Possible scam

My wife got a call yesterday from someone claiming to be from Villa Market.  They knew her name too.  They told her we had an order with them and if we wanted to add anything to it.  I happened to be next to her and told her we did not have any order from Villa Market and that it must be a scam trying to fish for your credit card number.

Anyway I am guessing it is most likely a scam.

My wife has had a few calls recently, all along the same lines.

Luckily my wife spends every waking hour on two phones to her friends and family. Gossip, lottery, how spicy the last som tum was etc etc.

Even though Villa Market would get her attention more than I can, I still reckon that she's too busy to receive these calls. ????

Well if it is the same number simply block it. If it is different numbers but same subject etc undoubtably it is a scam. You can keep blocking them, but their auto dialing facility will probably last longer than your patience.

Only answer contacts.

...or unknown numbers if a delivery is expected.

Scam. I did have an order that would not go through, as suddenly my credit card kept being rejected. So Villa market in Patts called and the girl said she could fill the order, have it delivered and the delivery guy would bring the credit card machine. Went through without any issues, as I knew it would. CC problem has since been resolved.

Luckily most scammers know I could never afford anything from Villa Market.

I get fairly regular calls which is a recording in Thai saying that a package has come for me.  I just hang up.

They might stand a faint chance if they spoke to me in English, if it's in Thai they are wasting their time.

If neither of you have ordered anything from Villa then it's a scam... easy.

When I get called from unknown numbers, I just say "English please" then they say "Solly" klick.... Sometimes not even Solly.

One time someone called me and she said she was from some bank and I said "English please" she replied in perfect english "Sorry Sir, but I don't speak any English at all. Have a good day" and she hung up. Her pronunciation was absolutely perfect. That surprised me.

If its Important like call from my Car dealer they find some one that can talk English while you wait.

Don't be shy, just talk to them and waste their time.

They will soon learn not to call you.
