Sanook reported on a feel good story after a TikTok video was posted by meenaxsr900.

The video featured a group of what the Thais call "Big Bikers" who were showing consideration to a neighborhood community.

The bikers were wheeling their high powered machines instead of revving them and creating annoyance because there was a sleeping baby in one of the houses.

They wheeled past then started their engines further down the road.

The post spoke of "greng jai" a Thai term that is widely used to mean showing consideration for someone else or their feelings.

It is a trait that Thais are particularly proud of.

The poster joked that the bikers looked like thieves in the night but praised the group.

The video was liked nearly 40,000 times and received widespread comment.

I've had  7 kids, you'd be surprised, babies don't wake easily.

If sleeping in a tent, yes probably wake, but a baby sleeping in a house would not wake if a few noisy bikes rode past.

Many big bikes have loud exhausts with legal ones and OEM exhausts on.

What did was considerate.

Not nearly as loud as the aftermarket fake Akrapovic most fit.

Could have fired up their bikes without a long walk if they simply kept a legal exhaust on instead of an illegal straight though overly loud annoyance.

With all the Euro 5 (6?) stuff modern bikes come with absolutely hideous, heavy and performance-restricting exhausts. These things just need to go! Looks like a hoover attached to the bike.

Have real Akrapo have bought fake Akrapo both db reading 85.

The fake one the chrome flaked and the fake carbon fiber lookalike cover flaked off within 2 years there's the difference not the noise.

'Feel good' story but had one of the usual showoff to##ers revving his bike through the tightly packed and built up Soi Buakhaow recently.  A farang desperate for his daily attention and advertising his wealth.  Usual narcissist.

The sound on the Harley so loud (decibel levels way above safe limits) instant pain and tinnitus in the ears.  The idiots don't realise that revving it like that (especially in areas where sound reverberates) hurts ears, can cause permanent hearing loss (acoustic damage). And those with hearing loss issues, they can worsen already fragile conditions.

The ones around here seem to be proud of parking in front of our driveway gate, going by how often they do it.

Isn't the greng jai culture one of the things that holds a country back? People not facing the truth. Avoiding making someone lose face and kowtowing?

Proud of being ‘considerate’…… until they’re in a car on the roads or there’s money involved for many, sadly

Praise where it's due goes a long way...

What they did in the video was not consideration for somebody's feeling (greng jai).

The video was about not disturbing their neighbor with the baby.

In general many Thais care very little if they are a disturbance to other people.
