Cheap haircut - shave head with clippers

I went to that barber once years ago. Horrible experience. Showed the barber a picture and he said Chai and ok. Ended up just shaving my head to a complete buzz cut. Never again!

Probably thought you were simply showing a pic of one of your kids.....

At my age I just am happy I still got some hair, so I simply ask for a short cut and that is what I get. It is rather too short, makes me look bald, and the wife keeps saluting me around the house, but after it grows in for  week it is how I like it.

  • Hundreds of places. God (if there is one) save Thailand from quality tourists who need recommendations for a barber.

  • It's a sad indictment of our times that the comb over that served our forefathers so well is no longer considered to be an option.

  • Come on...you can buy a clipper at Lazada for as little as 300.

Most of them have no idea how to cut hair. If you want a good hair cut you need to pay in Thailand.

They don't understand the shape of the farang "peanut" head.

Yep, been doing almost the whole time I've been you.  #4 (4mm) leaves enough not to get sunburnt, if having full coverage.  Buy a good one, clean & oil every year and it will last a decade or more.

That's pretty much what I do.  I vary between a #4, #5, and #6 on top and then a little lighter on the sides.  I also use the two tapers they include for around the ears.  I've been using the same set for 21 years.  Clean it every so often but have never oiled it.

I go to the beauty shop inside the Caesar Hotel on Second Road, opposite Soi 7. Mens haircuts using hand clippers are 150 baht. Good english spoken by Rung, the owner.  081-004-2192
