A 41-year-old Chinese man was held captive in Pattaya and got his finger chopped off allegedly by a ransom gang who demanded 30 million baht, according to Pattaya police.

The victim’s Thai girlfriend, Ms. Alisara Supasiribundit, 20, contacted Pattaya police to find her missing Chinese boyfriend, Mr. Ren Haibd, today, October 31st, after her boyfriend suddenly vanished at midnight yesterday, October 30th.

Ren disappeared along with his black Toyota Fortuner, according to his girlfriend.

Having your pinky finger cut off is slightly more preferable than having your pinky sausage cut off but the violence sure is out of control here ????

I was always surprised that the kidnap industry had never taken off here...

So did the chopped off finger get held hostage?, asking for a friend who has an empty hot dog bun.....

Interesting approach.  I suppose it's easier to take just the finger and then demand some money for its safe return.

Well here we go. And perhaps in the usual way we see here, there will be one on every street corner soon.

Triads moving in! I hope it was'nt his nose picking finger!

This is how Chinese solve their little business problems.

Maybe the finger got posted home to prove the rest will go the same way if the ransom is not paid.

Seems gentler than suffocating him with plastic bags I guess. Maybe the "extortionists" are resorting to Japanese techniques.

Yes.  That is what actually happened.

I honestly thought I was on a different forum and assumed it was about Westport / Sihanoukville / Kampong Som! ????

So essentially the victim gave the ransom gang "the finger". Good for him.
