snoop1130 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Pattaya residents and tourists had to endure floods that damaged their property and vehicles in many areas after heavy rain wreaked the city yesterday. A downpour struck most parts of Pattaya at 2 PM and lasted for more than an hour on Monday, The Pattaya News’s reporters reported. The low areas, such as the road along the railway, Soi Khao Talo, Soi Wat Tham Samakhi, and Khao Talo Road, were flooded, with the water level ranging from 30 cm to 1 m. A foreign tourist’s car stuck on the railway road was half submerged, forcing the male tourist to flee his vehicle through a car window. Pattaya city workers helped tow his car to a garage for repair after the rain stopped. Popular Post Aussieroaming Posted November 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2022 Ahh the family resort city of Pattaya, crown jewel of the TAT. When you look at a map that shows the number of water courses draining into the sea in that region, it is no wonder that major flooding occurs there. The only way to resolve the major flooding in Pattaya would be to construct flood levees to essentially divert the excess water runoff around Pattaya. A very expensive civil earthworks project. 2 2
Expat68 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I thought the rain season would have finished in Pattaya. Is this later than normal?

You are asking someone, who just wants to complain about everything for the sake of complaining, to actually apply logic and reason to their baseless argument.

kinyara Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Thought we'd seen the back of the heavy storms but this one just now was pretty severe thunder and lightening wise.
bbi1 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Do insurance companies here insure vehicles for floods? Surely they wouldn't, as it floors all the time and lots of vehicles always gets flood damage. It would cost insurance companies a fortune.

Every year I renew my policy I try to read the cover, and lose interest half way down the page.... ! Most probably only have the compulsory insurance, which certainly doesn't. Might be covered under home insurance.
