Daily News reported on a ghastly incident in Samut Prakan yesterday when a family's pet Pit Bull viciously attacked an old lady and two grandchildren.

 

The gran was left in a bloody heap on the floor after being savaged by the "friendly pet" and remains in hospital.

 

While the grandchildren have said they no longer want the Pit Bull - if you want to take care of it, come and collect him.

 

Thepparak officials went to a house in Soi Thepparak 96 in Muang district at dinner time.

 

There they found two women and a man badly hurt.

 

Getting the worst of it was Jamras, 70, who had multiple wounds all over her body and face including a horrific gash on her arm to the bone.

 

Sarinthip, 25, had leg and arm injuries and her brother Chollathip, 27, had an arm wound. 

 

They were all taken to Samut Prakan Hospital where Jaras remains in a serious condition.

 

Niyom, 73, told the media that the family has two male Pit Bulls: Pepo, 2, and Jumbo, 7 months.

 

Pepo was the one responsible for the attack.

Niyom said that his son had bought them as puppies. Pepo was normally friendly with everyone.

 

However a while back he had bitten his son promting Niyom to advise him to take him back to the "farm".

 

The family opposed this saying they loved him.

 

He recounted how the family were preparing a "moo katha" pork dinner but his grandchildren were arguing about a plug for the cooker.

 

Pepo heard the raised voices and probably thought there was trouble and ran in and started attacking Saranthip.

 

His wife Jamras came to her assistance but being old fell over.

She was then savaged on the floor and ended up covered in blood as Pepo targeted her instead. 

 

Her grandson managed to get the dog off and put him in a cage.

 

On release from the hospital the grandchildren expressed their shock that a loving and friendly family pet such as this could turn on them.

 

They said that if anyone wants to come and collect Pepo to look after they are welcome to do so.

I know it's not the dog's fault it was born the breed it was, but better to be safe than sorry.

Pitbulls are everywhere now in Thailand simply because it became cool/fashionable to have them. My honest opinion is that Thai's can't really be trusted to keep anything bigger than a chihuahua. They simply do not appreciate that bigger dogs require lots of exercise off the lead (in a safe enviroment) and lots of stimulation. But here they simply keep them locked up in small confined spaces and then wonder why they turn on them. Madness.

This is my pitbull that I rescued from Gran Canaria and took her to The Algarve,Portugal.

Her nickname was the lick machine the most beautiful,softest creature on the Planet Earth my friends would all laugh now at anyone trying to tell them that pitbulls are dangerous having met her?

She is just smiling here in this photo she truly was a special animal I gave her to a great family with a nice villa there but it broke my heart into a million pieces,it brings a tear to my eye even now typing this and this was back in 1999?

No mentioning of the old lady trying to attack the dog,she wanted the dog

to stop biting.

Highly reactional  dog,this happens not only in Pitbulls.

The fact that the dog already bit before and no action was taken means you could wait for it to happen again.

Aggression in dogs or in humans need to be controlled or it will happen

again.

But,they still loved the dog,mai pen rai.

Like other posters have said,end his life now before he goes off again.

Probably put in a small kennel until they feel sorry for it and then ,it will happen again.

Maybe put the dog with a family where the children and granny don’t attack it thinking they are tough guys who can control a powerful dog,basically trying to treat  it like a Burmese/Cambodian housemaid?

Ah, they hadn't carried out the years of special training and constant careful handling that is apparently required to stop these dogs from killing people.  How silly of them.  Clearly their fault, not the fact that the dog is bred to kill at all... /s

No.  Some people were bickering and the psychotic dog that is bred to kill went and attacked them.  The old woman tried to stop the attack and it attacked her as well.  I'm sure if there were some kids for it to attack, it would have killed them.

 

The problem is with the dog bred to kill attacking people, not some people living a normal life doing what everyone does.

I rescued her from Gran Canaria she had two broken toes when I got her from her previous owner,who probably stamped on her paw because she wouldn’t fight other dogs?

The vet set her toes and put a big metal bar around her leg from shoulder to shoulder,then bandaged it up.

The Local Canarian Police used to stop me to ask what had happened to her exclaiming ‘Ay,que pobrecito/Aw what a poor little thing’,plus old German ladies used to stop me also exclaiming ‘you are a very good man!’

Do you have any stories to tell like this I’m guessing no,as you just seem like a very bitter and hate-filled individual?
