Poker Face , Peacock, 10 eps (9 released as of today), Rian Johnson-helmed, he directed the penultimate epsiode which was amazing. Natasha Lyonne is awesome, guest star list is beyond incredible. 10/10

Loved it - TGF called it 'The <deleted> Lady'.

Watched 'Marlowe' last night - What a waste of Neeson!  Convoluted & pretentious; I have downloaded ALL the Chandler books & their style demands simplicity.

Love Christoph Waltz but he's currently starring in 2 series which are bizarre.

This was fantastic.

Somewhat similar to.White Lotus.

First few minutes is like a gay fetish film, does it get any better? Obviously far too long.

Actually there is very little gay content in the film and in my view it didn't feel overly long by even a second. I know what you mean about long films. I usually prefer 90 minutes or so but in case where your attention is fully engaged it doesn't matter if much longer.

I liked the opening male model scene (it conveyed a humorous and probably true theme about cheap fashion vs  luxury consumer items) but I don’t think not liking it would necessarily translate to not liking the movie. It was hardly pornographic or even titillating so I find your negative reaction to it odd.

I did watch it few weeks back, and I don't recall it being like a "gay fetish film", however online the movie was described as "wickedly funny", however I didn't find it wickedly funny at all and I think I got about halfway through it before I switched it off.

Well up.to you but the film is a SATIRE and often satire doesn’t play like less sophisticated laugh out loud comedy. It's a head laugh.

I do strongly defend the movie. It's award winning and the cliffhanger ending will have you searching online for clues.

Also to note the South African actress that played the strikingly beautiful female model character Charlbi Dean has tragically died of a sudden illness.

Just struggled through the first 15 minutes of Everything Everywhere.

No thanks.

That happened to me too. I recognized the movie to have substance but decided I just wasn't in the mood for it at that time. But it's definitely on my list for later when I am in the mood even before the awards.

All Quiet is next  on my list. Jawohl.

Yes I do appreciate what SATIRE is, however it was the IMDb website which described the movie as "wickedly funny" so perhaps my expectations were primed for laughter? And satire is ok but when a movie depends upon it and plays it out to the "n-th" degree then IMO it can become tiresome .

Some are saying the vomit scene was too much.

Woody Harrelson was brilliant as the communist ship's captain.

You didn't like OK it's your taste.

Why theses bloody great microphones when newsreaders can use a tiny Lavalier type clipped to their lapel? You don't see The Roosters mic either, but the Aussie guy's you do.

I watch the last episode of Season Two of the Mayor of Kingston last night.

I found Season One excellent.

But Season Two became a bit tedious and disappointing after the initial series.

The final episode was action-packed and enjoyable.

If there is a Season 3 which I doubt, I will not be holding my breath in anticipation.

Was boring. Most of the time he drives around taking phone calls.

Your Honor season 2 turned out to be excellent. But now it's really over

I've just finished watching it and I also thought it excellent. Do you really think it's over ? I don't think so. Almost certainly will be a third season IMHO.....unless you know otherwise.

Watched the Boston Strangler last night starring one of my favourite actors Keira Knightley.

I never knew much about the case previously as I was in my teens when it happened.

I found this movie interesting and a good watch.

Boston Strangler (2023) - IMDb

Yes, me too and I've always quite liked Keira Knightley in whatever she has appeared in, however in this movie she took another "step forward" IMO and I found it a good and interesting watch, as you did.

This thread is the best thing on MediaAsia.  Many thanks to the contributors who have massively enhanced my viewing.

Perhaps the best recommendation for me was 'Get Shorty'; 3 series, every episode a joy.  It also drew me to 'The IT Crowd' - another O'Dowd classic. (5 series of laugh-a-minute workplace comedy.)

Watched 'Otto' last night - Tom  Hanks - loved it.

I'd like to recommend Bob Odenkirk's latest but I can't; it's set on an American campus with limited appeal & even episode 1 is loaded with Wokism - his Faculty has every type of necessary characters.

I'm quite enjoying 'The Company You Keep' glossy tho' a copy of 'Tulsa King's central relationship of Cop lady enjoying bad-boy affair.

Perry Mason S2 (can't find S1) has stumbled on a woke theme with a completely anachronistic lesbian relationship.

Enjoying 'The Undeclared War' till episode 3 when a vegetarian, non-smoking, strict Muslim girl suddenly downs a beer and discovers she is a closet lesbian - I didn't see that coming!

It was a better thread before the socio-ideological nuance appeared.

I just finished watching the first season of 1923 and wondered what other people thought of this series?  I found the big cat attack scenes in Africa funny. I don't think they spent much on those special affects.

I have read that there is going to be another Yellowstone prequel 1944 coming next year.

Just watched the current season of Vera...... good story lines but every other character seems to be a nod to the Woke brigade.
