Buriram: Many victims bitten by "mad"  Thai street dog "foaming at the mouth" - rabies fears

Featured Replies

What do they mean they darted the dog. I assume it's dead as the only way to know if it has rabies is from a dead dogs brain tissue.

They all must have done something to annoy it.

  • It is very sad indeed to see these filthy diseased animals rooming the streets of Thailand. As much as Thailand tries to put on lipstick, it is still a third world country that is dangerous at times.

I have helped and rescued over three hundred dogs and not once been bitten. Dogs don't bite without a reason.

Yawn…..     yes they do… or their ‘reason’ is that they are untrained… or something completely innocuous like a child stoking them while food is nearby, or stroking pups etc….

… I’m sure the so called dig lovers would try and blame the child (or parents) in such situations…

It was rabid. THAT was the reason.

We encountered this denial of ownership/responsibility when my partner was knocked off her bike while cycling to the gym, and bitten - rabies shots ensued.

It was just a dog they fed, not theirs.

It 'went away'. They could hardly complain, since it wasn't theirs.

Yes they do on a daily basis, just not you so far.

No, it had not been confirmed as having rabies, that why there is a veterinary investigation...as the report clearly stated.

The only way to test is to kill it, cut off its head, and inspect the brain.

He said that the dog in question was foaming at the mouth and going for anyone in range indiscriminately.

A sure sign it was rabid, in his opinion.

Either that or it had just eaten its owners yaba or weed

Perhaps they should do that to all soi dogs. Those proven not to have rabies can have their heads put back on again.

untested vaccine

The vaccine was tested as normal with clinical trials etc. It passed all the usual tests. Scientists had spent years developing vaccines against coronaviruses before COVID. Fauci (you can't even spell his name right) is a scientist with decades of experience but you, with zero experience, make this stuff up and expect to look impressive.

Try reading. https://www.umms.org/coronavirus/covid-vaccine/facts/testing

Take this dog out. Today. Not tomorrow. If not by the authorities, then by one of the victims. This rabid, foul, angry pestilence of an animal, is the worst kind of dog and does not deserve to live, any longer.

Take him out now.

What no mention of it being a Pit Bull? If there had this would be at least a 20 page thread.

I'm not sure what your point is.  If it was a Pit Bull, it probably would have been worse, and the fact that a non-Pit Bull dog can catch rabies, go crazy, and bite a load of people, does not stop Pit Bulls from being more dangerous.

People will, of course, discuss how dangerous it is to have street dogs roaming the street generally (even non-Pit Bulls), but that won't lead to pages of argument as it doesn't trigger Pit Bull appreciators who believe them to be no more dangerous than a Labrador.

One of the reasons is they want to bite someone.

Years in the making, Thailand must have a great mad Soi dig time action plan,,,, implementing is the big issue here…

Rabi vaccines been around long long time ! Well tested unlike covid vaxx where most of us via trust the science & Governments forced this untested vaccine on the populious with none to very little clinical testing  normally takes few years prior to approval side effects +++ 99% most vaccines are clinically tested  ! Covid or CCP Virus  greatest mass experiment  in world history Big pharmaceutical profits went through roof just another pharmaceutical scam call me conspiracy theorist real or not real this virus was man made Dr Fauchi & C/o - should be arrested for crimes against humanity along with corrupt WHO ???????? WEF officials. All we can do is learn & live with it ! like all flu eperdemics past and present will keep mutating ! I believe free choice to be vaxxed or not up to individuals ! Yes possibly most vaunrable in our society  with pre excisiting  comobiditys issues ! With Rabi vaxx was well tested clinically for years & works 3 or 4 in the stomach for memory over 3 or 4 days friend mine got off rabied monkey & it worked  !!

Oh boy, you are so far down that rabbit hole it’s unlikely you’ll ever see the light of day. But at least down there Bill Gates can’t get you with those nano things that mean he can control you.

TAT.  Come to Thailand and have a Rabid time

In latest related news vets and the local authority had shot the animal with a traquilizer dart.

Lead shot would have been more suitable.

Near my home they have the cages out to collect the stray dogs , after childrens day they will be released to cause mayhem again

No it didn't. It was missing literal years of trial data which would have captured the risks we know about now if it was run longer. Some countries (Canada off the top of my head) retracted use of the vaccine for certain age groups AFTER learning of negative side effects.

I guess back to carrying a stick on your way to school to fend off the dogs. ????‍♂️

???? > ????????

If I ever get bitten by a soi dog, I'll not only get the vaccine shots (which are relatively painless these days), but also antiserum injected close to the bite sit.   Antiserum is a lot more expensive, but rabies is nothing to mess around with.

That rabies vaccine is gnarly too. Given the wussified world we live in, wonder how many will refuse to get vaccinated. As always up2U   ????

You dont get vaccinated for rabies. Just saying as you are obviously not aware of that.

It's Thai culture behind allowing strays and diseased dogs free rein.

And it is falang culture to think that way.

No the main reason was not that, or Buddhism- the publication cannot be discussed.

Are you trying to say the culling did not get stopped?

Are you trying to say that the Thai government were not deliberately humiliated in the international press by western celebrities?

No, it is not.

Ok, what is it then? Second world? ????

It would be a different story if the bike had hit the dog, they would be queing up to claim ownership, and compensation.

Learning fast from the west.
