Muang Chachoengsao police in central Thailand were called after a report that a man on a motorcycle died in a collision with a train at a level crossing.

It happened near Preng Station in Klong Preng sub-district around 7pm yesterday.

Dorkrak, 48, had multiple injuries that were described in detail by Thai Rath.

His body was taken to Bhudasothon Hospital for a detailed autopsy before being released to relatives.

A Honda Wave 110i was picked off the tracks by locals to avoid another accident.

The victim's father Charoen, 70, said his son worked at a factory nearby and was on his way home which is 2 kms from the crossing.

He said after viewing CCTV that his son clearly didn't take care.

He said that he had gone through the barrier after watching one train pass only to be hit by another passing in the opposite direction.

ASEAN NOW notes that a still photo published by the media appeared to show that the barrier was not in place.

The service that him the victim was the #379 passenger train from Bangkok to Chachoengsao.

First train from left hid train coming for right.

He must have rode off as soon as the first trains last carriage passed.

Motor cyclists in Thailand generally, are totally stupid...always trying to get through where they can't..they never look and they rarely slow down.....and this clown simply did not look!

You can see the video in the Thai Rath link.  The first motorcycle made a successful crossing, the second one was not successful.

VERY graphic content!   Bang!

Just like crossing the road , you need to look both ways ,

and don't try to cross at all when the lights are flashing

don't try to cross until they stop.,patience is a virtue ...

Everyone knows that red lights are only optional to a Thai, not an order.

It appears from the video that he may not have been the first to go over the tracks, another bike is ahead of him in that lane.

Dork-rak, 48

Fitting name. This would be tragic if impatient disregard for any and all wasn't so common and prevalent here. Always in such a rush. Always taking unnecessary risks to save 5-10 seconds. And worst of it...always putting themselves, and especially others, at risk of life or limb. :post-4641-1156693976:

Eh?

That is the leading pole on an obviously disused rolling gate barrier. It does not protrude into the road. There is, none the less a bit of a mystery regarding this video. I googled mapped the crossing adjacent to Preng station and it looks nothing like the one depicted here and it does have barriers.
