Someone was a grass.  There's no way the police found them.

Immigration trawl the area where I live regularly looking for illegals and overstays. Luckily, it is regularly and not frequently.

That is why we have to keep the TM 30 reporting up to date.

He appeared to be angrily pointing at the cameraman.

He wasn't "angrily pointing". He was asking "Do you want to hit this spleef, maan?"

So do they stop all the 'foreigners' and ask for passports etc?

I guess it's TM30s. Possibly a bounty offered too.

The immigration police has nothing to do with your listed crimes.

No, they go round knocking on doors and ask to see the passports and TM 30 reports.

The area is mainly holiday villa rentals with a smattering of private houses. Almost 100% foreigners.

Easy pickings for Immigration police.

6 and 9 days overstay, Oh my ...

During the time spent locate and apprehend these 'criminals':

?? Number of women was abused.

?? Number of street thugs, sold all kind of illegal drugs.

?? Number of cars was broken into.

??? Number of cars was speeding, some created mayhem, hospitalization and death.

??? Number of motorcycles was stolen.

Oh my...  None of those are the responsibility of the IB.

6 days and nine days overstay? Hardly 'major criminals'?

But they are overstayers, an area the IB are responsible for and a job the IOs are employed to do.   At what stage do illegal actions become liable for IB action in your mind?    What if one of these overstayers is wanted for more serious crimes, would not checking them be acceptable to you?
