Six in 10 Americans don't want Trump to be president again: 2024 poll

The majority of Americans do not want former President Donald Trump to be elected in 2024, while voters remain split on whether he participated in any illegal activity regarding his hush money scandal.

A new NPR/Marist poll found that only 38% of national adults want Trump to be president again, while the majority of 61% do not want the Republican to serve another term in office.

According to the survey, 76% of Republicans, 34% of independents and 11% of Democrats want Trump to serve another four years in the White House.

Which might mean that 4 out of 10 DO want him to be POTUS again.

No wonder the Dems are trying to get him legally barred from standing again!

I’d of thought it would be more like 8 out of 10

11 million repubs reregistered as independents after Jan 6th. They'll most likely sit out the next election.

Add in at least a few million disappointed DeSantis fans. Post court cases, expect a few million more to evaporate

If even 5% of those people hold their noses and vote for Biden, it's a landslide.

Meanwhile, post Roe V Wade overturn, the Dem turnout will be high.

Where does Trump find the voters to make up for these defections?

First, he had the war against wokeness. Now he has the war against arithmetic.

Basic math wins out again. Even his opponent thinks its just 25%

Did Trump ever say he wants abortion banned?

Not being an American I fail to understand why killing the unborn is such a high issue in the US. Perhaps someone can explain it for me.

It's like contraception was never invented.

But it seems as though it is not 3 but 6 out of 10 who don't want Trump.

There is no way 76% of Republicans want trump as president. The wording must have been written in a way to get such a fake result. Many Independents, Republicans and Democrats would vote for Desantis if he says he will run.  Or even other prospects.

I hold my breath, and pray we never hear about Trump ever again, and the good Americans finely find real good politicians who can secure our future, but I am not to optimistic.

What goes up, have to come down, and that means our common wealth as allied in the west. We had the chance to secure it in a good way, but we F it up big time by outsource what made us good, and now have to pay for it.

We gave 100 years to China and Asia the last 20 years giving it away not for free, we even paid  for their services and giving them the tech at the same time. As well continue  a devasting toxic foreign politics creating enemies instead of friends.

Go figure

That's what I thought, 40% of the electorate would elect most candidates in any election.

I would laugh so hard if Trump won the next election.

Abortion is murder, end of.

No need to explain further.

Not sure what Trump thinks.

Another interesting quote from the Fox News article, which may contribute to explain the main results: 69% think he had at least done something unethical.

"When asked about the criminal probe, 46% said they think Trump has done something illegal. About 29% of Americans believe it was unethical, but not illegal, while 23% don't think he did anything wrong."

The number of people who vote for someone is neither here nor there in US Presidential elections.

Democrats keep winning the majority of voters (the "popular vote") while the Republicans have fewer people voting for their candidate but win the all-important electoral college. Nothing to do with how the majority of people vote for someone.

Just saying. But the Orange guy is unlikely to win this time.
