Myanmar’s second-most powerful general has issued a directive to his commanders to keep a closer watch on the Thai-Myanmar border after Thailand’s Move Forward Party won the most House seats in the May 14  general election.

According to Irrawaddy, Vice Senior General Soe Win said “The Move Forward Party is pro-West and they will assist terrorists … we have to watch the border and get information about them, their movements and their activities.

The “terrorists” he referred to are anti-Myanmar regime resistance groups active along the border.

Looks like China and America are getting ready for a Proxy War.....if you need details, read the book,,,"The Devil's Chessboard" to understand how America works.

Yet, not recognized as such [by everyone] on the surface.

The crux.

Friends of Thailand and the army? ready to justify a coup as this could seen as a thread to Thailand?

Aww did you best friend loose a democratic election - the single thing you fear the most?

Thailand gets into spats with Cambodia from time to time too.

Then you have the issues at the southern boarder.

Lastly,....always available for the next coup

Pro Russia. Pro China.

If you judge the quality of a party by its enemies, this speaks well of Move Forward.

One could say Russia Ukraine is a proxy war, Russia is slowly going bankrupt so out of the power game.

Only China to worry about now.

And if USA keep ripping themselves apart it won't be under a decade to see China checkmate.

this is the difference between having unelected military generals running a country and elected civilians, one is by the gun and the other by ballot box

This reaction reveals an awful lot about Prayuth and his supporters.

Junta lovers, this is what you are truly supporting and no amount of “but, but Thaksin” can conceal this fact.

How sad.

Don't hold your breath with Thailand's history of the juntas returning, give it a few years

I might be cautious to these slogans.

Don't think the coalition is overwhelming pro-West.

It would be funny if it would not be so sad ...

The murderous burmese junta tries to bend the truth .

The terrorists is THEM .

I don't know why the world is ( mostly )ignoring the fact that this country has been taken from a young democracy to a murderous autocracy that does not value the life of their citizens .

And there are still countries who support them actively by providing weapons , like Russia and China ... Shame on them !

You forgot Thailand under junta rule - they are probably the biggest supporter that the Burmese junta have.

Who’d have thunk that supporting anti democracy juntas has real world death and destruction consequences.

Shame on all those who have argued against democracy in Thailand - hiding behind that tiny tiny false fig leaf “Thaksin is the devil”.

What you guys support is disgusting.

Don't forgot Thailand and USA supported Pol Pot.....

I’m sorry, is it 1981?

Looks like propaganda from outgoing government to raise fear and unrest in Thailand-a precursor for another coup. Of course the Burmese were happy to accommodate.

Kun Pita, educated in NZ and USA has a fairly good knowledge of how democratic countries work.

Look Gen Sour Win, Prayuth has tried to get rid of any opposition in the past, he followed your lead, to get them banned or jailed (and still is) but he wasn't quite into murdering the population as you are.

Myanmar junta a real A class act of nepotism, evil, and unspeakable cruelty.

CIA torture center somewhen in the time frame of 2002-2004 is that recent enough? Thailand was also in the war against Vietnam....there is zero reason to trust Thailand as a neighbor.
