President Biden's officials reportedly "leave him alone" as often as they can on the weekends and tend to adjust his schedule to avoid tiring "an aging president," according to the New York Times. 

The outlet reported that officials have said they try to leave the president alone on weekends and tend to schedule all public appearances between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.  

A Democrat who chose to remain anonymous told the New York Times that Biden's age was a popular discussion topic among prominent members of the party. 

"At a small dinner earlier this year of former Democratic senators and governors, all of them in Mr. Biden’s generation, everyone at the table agreed he was too old to run again. Local leaders often call the White House to inquire about his health," the outlet reported.

IMO the "conspiracy theory" is the left claiming biden is cognitively fine and able in spite of what we see daily from the guy. I will always trust my own eyes rather than democrat activist media and narratives.

God, I love this spin.  The president IS on call 24 hours, it is part of the job.  I seem to remember political ads from days gone by saying, "if the phone in the WHite House rings at 3;00am, who do YOU want to answer it?"

 

Joe is old. Very old. Older than any president in history. Older than others who sought the presidency but were decried as "too old" (John McCain?). 

 

He falls down a lot. You can tell by the way he walks that he is unsteady on his feet. He mumbles (not due to stuttering). He forgets very basic things (the details of his eldest son's tragic death).  He refuses to meet the press in any meaningful way. He refuses to sit down for interviews with anyone who might ask a tough question. His press availabilities are more scripted than May Day in Beijing. 

 

He needs to go and the Democrats need to have an open, honest primary to pick a candidate. Even a large number of Democrats agree.

So he likes to take a break at weekends (unless it is an emergency, I am sure). Everyone has weekend breaks and has for many years.

The issue is, does his age prevent him from attending meetings that are in his calendar? Did it stop him from achieving much more than  previous incumbents?  George W. Bush spent more than a year of his presidency at Camp David -- 387 days, either entirely or partially. 

It looks suspiciously like other politicians are creating the gossip.
