ABC, CBS and NBC newscasts ignore alleged Biden bribery scheme, spend hours on Trump: Report

Featured Replies

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump were both implicated in major breaking news on June 8. But only the allegations against Trump received coverage by the big three news networks, according to a recent Media Research Center NewsBusters study.

The analysis revealed that ABC, CBS and NBC devoted a total of 291 minutes to the Trump indictment between June 8 and June 12. In the same period of time, those same networks gave zero coverage to news that Fox News Digital broke on the Biden family.

President Joe Biden was allegedly paid $5 million by an executive of the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, a confidential human source told the FBI during a June 2020 interview, sources familiar told Fox News Digital. Hunter Biden, who allegedly was paid $50,000 a month while on Burisma’s board, was also a beneficiary of the pay to play scheme, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The difference being there is meat on the trump accusations and there seems to be no meat to the accusations against Biden.

Maybe because it's really insubstantial news. Here's an excellent explanation of how tendentious it is:

Here's an excellent analysis of why this "evidence" is so tendentious.

.

The GOP ‘bribery’ allegations against Biden remain transparently thin

But despite incremental new revelations about the form and about the push for the form to be released, nothing about the situation has changed from that first news release. Republicans are hyping a secondhand allegation from a single source — an allegation that was in the hands of Attorney General William P. Barr’s Justice Department in mid-2020 without leading to criminal charges or, it seems, any specific investigation.

I knew this was a FOX News article before opening the thread.

Why report news when FOX can report conspiracy and baseless accusations?!

Here's an interesting piece of info:

Update: Two members of Congress who have seen the 1023 told the New York Post that the executive at issue was Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky. In 2020, former Giuliani aide Lev Parnas — then himself under indictment on federal charges — told Politico that Giuliani had met privately with Zlochevsky in mid-2019, in the middle of Trump’s effort to get Ukraine to announce an investigation into Biden.

“Asked to detail any contacts he had with Joe Biden from 2013-2019, and whether Hunter ever facilitated any meetings,” Politico’s Natasha Bertrand wrote, “Zlochevsky replied: ‘No one from Burisma ever had any contacts with VP Biden or people working for him during Hunter Biden’s engagement.’ "

I think btw they should be paying attention to the Biden bribery allegations and denouncing them. Maybe an indepth piece on the origines and background.

They spent time on the Trump story because it was based on fact, and ignored the Biden story as baseless garbage.

One is a criminal which is recognised by about 60% of Americans, and his transgressions are newsworthy.

The other has zero evidence of any wrongdoing against him, despite years of republicans searching for some.

Given most Republicans can't even be bothered to read the indictment against Trump, which would enlighten them, any garbage they spout against anyone else isn't worth even listening to. 99% of all their grievances are already debunked garbage, only kept alive by their moronic pursuit of something, anything on a Democrat to save their beloved cult leader, who gives not one toss about any of them.

Moronic statements about politically weaponized DOJ, when the indictment came from a grand jury of democrat AND republican jury members who listened to the actual evidence, all the waffle from Republicans is just that, waffle. Not based in truth, but truth deflecting rubbish sucked in by the mindless base.

Raise the IQ level necessary to be able to vote to a meager 90, and the country would turn totally blue at an election.

Some people are just way too stupid to be allowed to vote, as evidenced by the moronic goings on in the States,

You actually need to know the facts, all of them, not just the one sided hyperbole dished out by biased media before you can actually make an educated decision. Republicans don't make educated statements, they make emotional ones, based on a wing and a prayer, that they think they need to say to keep votes, and to hell with the truth and their moral conscience.

They're smart enough to know the lunatics can take over if they are too blasé like the Brits were about the Brexit poll, and then, the US becomes a giant Venezuela.

Ahh because the aforementioned news organizations report factual information to the best of their abilities.Personally I’m surprised Fox News is an approved source for information heck they just got fined almost a billion bucks for regurgitating blatant lies

Funny, you would think they would concentrate on the major story involving a sitting President allegedly and with strong evidence having a corruption problem with some VERY topical countries.

They need to cover the important issues if they want to be thought of as credible.

But you don't hear T____ himself complaining about this, do you?

Center of attention is center of attention, and it helps to raise $$$$ too!

It's the "strong evidence" part that is missing.  That is explained in posts preceding yours.

Is this the strong evidence you're referring to?

Republican Admits Biden Tapes Might Not Be Smoking Gun

And in an interview on Newsmax on Tuesday, Kentucky Representative James Comer left some room for reasonable doubt around the existence of any audio recordings involving the Bidens—only that someone the FBI interviewed claimed they existed.

"I can confirm they were listed in the 1023 that the FBI redacted," Comer said on the program. "We don't know if they're legit or not, but we know the foreign national claims he has them."

Maybe loosen your grip on those pearls if you expect hard-hitting journalism from an entertainment company?

It is ironic that Fox News is calling out others for under-reporting the shady activities of the Biden Crime family, and over-reporting on the legal travails of the leading republican presidential candidate.

Agree.  FOX seems like a very poor choice as a "World News" source.

FOX settled with Dominion for nearly $800bn over charges that it baselessly accused the company of rigging its voting machines against former President Donald Trump in 2020. And FOX still faces a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Smartmatic, that alleges Fox broadcast lies that “decimated” its business.

After getting rid of Tucker, FOX ratings have plummeted.  Now it seems to be doubling down in the crazy to try to regain some of its lost audience.

It applies quite well to Fox News, including this article which is trying to divert attention from the real news.

That you believe that this excerpt is somehow especially pertinent to what you would call the left-wing press,  just shows how biased your perceptions are. It reminds of that story about what happens when you ask a hungry man what does  1+1 equal? His answer: 2 hamburgers.
