If you were looking for a new relationship today what age gap would you aim for and why?

Really?

Maybe that is the case with a woman of the same age of your home country. In Thailand you still don't have much in common with any Thai women of any age.

Agree 100%. An older woman here wont be into current or past music / movies outside of Thailand....current affairs etc. I find if anything I have more in common with 20-30yo as far as conversation etc albeit still limited. Thailand to me has always been about 50 years behind the times compared to home (Australia). And I actually mean this in a nice way...That's why I live here. Like the good old days. So a 20-30yo girl will be closer to being on the same page as a 50-60yo. Well not in any great way but a lot more than an older women IMO

Where I find the problems lie even with an older woman is most of us guys have done it all, been there done that and in cruise mode...or planning the last part of their life. Usually the girls we meet will have come from nothing or very little and want to go everywhere, do everything and buy everything. As someone once told me people who have nothing NEED EVERYTHING!

It's funny how we all see things differently.

Me and MrsG have been together over 20 years at this point

Neither of us have the bodies we did back then, but I 'think' because we actually have a spiritual or whatever you might call it relationship, I think she's sexier now in her 50's than she ever was.

I can see a pretty girl in the street, and think, Yep she's pretty, but wouldn't ever trade MrsG for a TikToc obsessed pretty face, with whom I would have nothing in common?

I don't think so!

I think that really underlines it. Doesn't really matter...the most important thing is you meet the one that is right for you and makes you happy. Younger girls may be more attractive but gets old if they are laying there like a brick or playing with their phone while you are doing the business. If it is someone you are going to live with everyday happiness and eager performance to me is much better than stunning looks ????

I have a young child here so I need a partner as a back up. I am pretty lucky to have found one who is very easy going and suitable. But if I were single without a child I doubt I would be looking for Mrs right or someone to live with again. Even if they are nice for the first few months you meet them, they can change at any time. then almost impossible to get rid of once without major dramas once they cross the threshold.

A word to the wise for some of you guys who have been through or going through psycho / instablility or emotional issues with your girl....get her off the pill. made a huge difference to mine. A nurse here told me Thai woman already very high hormones and the pill just messes them up badly.

I agree. That's why we live in HER house. I can say: Here's the key and good bye.

And I knew her for over 5 years before we got getting married and for several months in 'significant other' realm before that.

My first and only marriage is to my Thai wife, 20 years younger. I was 64. I was never the marrying kind, and only decided that if I was going to marry it was the time. I almost married a Thai girl 34 years younger, but I could see that would have been a big mistake. To me being with a girl that young only made me feel older. I have always looked a lot younger that my age and in my home country dated mostly younger women, as much as 18 years younger. I agree mostly with spidermike and quite a bit with Kenny202.

If for some reason I had to remarry, at 76, I don't think age would have much to do with my choice.

Been there done that, took all my furniture, appliances etc and moved in....nearly lost the lot. I will never lose control of my living circumstances again. All they have to do is say the stuff is there's if it is in their house and you have very little chance of recovering it should they refuse to give it back

I don't have any furniture and anything I really would need would fit in a taxi.

Why would anybody take a 40-year-old if he can have a 25-year-old?

personality, kindness, having someone who can have some compassion and understanding, compatibility... and they are more likely to be into me and be appreciative... a 25 year old would not have anything in common with me

25 year olds are surely pretty, though for me, not sexy... but maybe they have a grandma who might be more fun to be with...

I was 39 and she was 21 and it worked well in some ways because we had a similar temperament and sense of humour and being with a young lady wasn't shabby.

I had been alone for a while as I got sick of Australian women and probably they me.

The gap started to show in terms of how we wanted to spend her time, what was interesting to each of us, and how we should spend money and it was done in 5 years.

Prenup for me and citizenship and a love of Australia for her has helped to make us still be close friends.

Now she is 40 and can see the world a bit how I saw it back then.

Two things affect the aging male brain; a desire for sex, and a sense of familiarity.

Many guys in Thailand gravitate there for the former, easy sex with young women who in their home country would probably vomit at the thought of sex with them.

Then you get to familiarity.

We all like sex, but being with someone roughly your own age brings that sense of common ideals.

You sorta like the same music, movies have lived through the same history so you actually have things to talk about, rather than a relationship just based around sex.

So I'd say a 10 year age gap is about the limit

And for full disclosure me and Mrs G are exactly 10 years apart

good post

At age 52, the lady on the left (age 51) started divorcing me and within a month I had moved in with the lady on the right (age 32).

I like women aged 30-35 years old and weighing 38-50Kg.

I see no reason to change my tastes.

Lost all my stuff to my Brit wife, and that taught me I don't really need it. If it happens again I'll just leave with a small backpack and let her keep the rest.

Sure but did you have to pay her relocation expenses?

Same age as OP, I would go for a 40 year widow who was married to an old rich falang, with good taste for life. Expect good language, social skills and hungry for a new start with s new man, who have time and energy to please her.

If Kids preference already university educated, and out of house.

That is an interesting post.

I met lots of old farang young Thai girl/women in Thailand, and in some of those cases the old farang died. And then the Thai women, now a lot richer, decided again to live with old farangs together.

So maybe it is not just the money.

It would be an interesting statistic what new husbands Thai women chose who are now widow and who inherited substantial wealth from their farang husbands.

The question is: how long can  one survive  on 3 times 20mg of Cialis a day...

I know my bank account wouldn't survive for long. Those things are 600 baht a pill at my local pharmacies. Mind sharing where you get yours from?

A few of them play golf, and I see them once and awhile at my friends  golf tournament social gatherings at his hotel.
