Who will he issue orders to?

Big Joke, the next national police chief?

Judiciary?

RTA?

ISOC?

Those are the organizations that will be needed to push back against the Monarchy reform trends.

And that brings a key question "does the paymaster personally want such reforms?"

Seems to me his focus will be on 'cash'.

what hogwash are you babbling on about ... it's pretty obvious that Thaksin did a deal with the devil ...

Just shows what a joke their process is ....

you think anyone outside with half a brain will believe any of this theatrical theater show.

Not surprising that you’ve replied to this particular post.

<Sob!> Brave Thaksin, sacrificing his health to help form a government to serve the people while his sister carries on her business in London where Thai criminality has no meaning.

A prisoner has access to a cell phone? Only in Mexico (cartels) and Thailand (politician/billionaire).

Surely that was the whole point of getting him moved to a hospital in the first place, though? So he'd no longer be treated like a prisoner, but more like a celebrity hospital patient.

Thai doctors are a unique breed. Here is a medically fit to fly 24hrs ago patient, who we are being told now needs to be hospitalised. Other very high profile patients are clinically dead for over 9 months but magically we are told are still alive.

And to move him one step closer to 'qualifying' for 'home detention'.

No doubt with numerous scaly calleres/visitors, regular meetings and his own chef etc.

Yep. She'll not be back until they can engineer a way for her to come back and not serve any time.

I get the impression that she is not too bothered about coming back to Thailand ever. Time will tell I guess.

Yes, possibly so. For reference (january 2019):-

This week, Caixin discovered her (Yingluk) in a less-expected place — working as the chairwoman of a Guangdong-based port operator.  Sources at Shantou International Container Terminals Ltd. confirmed that Yingluck, 51, began serving as the company’s chairwoman and its legal representative on Dec. 12. (2018) .............. Shantou International operates in the Shantou Port area, a key transit point for goods flowing to eastern Guangdong, a rich industrial province in China’s south. The company is 70% owned by Hutchison Port Group Co. Ltd., itself a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd., the sprawling conglomerate built by Hong Kong’s richest man, Li Ka-Shing .................... Yingluck is a fourth-generation Thai-Chinese and her family is rumored to have high-level connections within the Chinese government.................. Yingluck and Thaksin were reported to have visited relatives at their ancestral home in the city of Meizhou in eastern Guangdong.

Meh.

Why did it take him 17 years to return, if he's so masterfully brilliant?

.

He can’t return as his arch enemy was still alive and pulling the military strings for most of the 17 years.

There seem to be a lot of de facto bosses around. It makes it all seem a bit shady. Aren't there rules about convicted criminals becoming what I suppose could be called the de facto PM?

Let’s say it like it really is shall we? Ole square head a corrupt criminal on the run - now bought in to stop democracy!!! How people can support this murdering mafia boss above the democratically elected choice of the people shows all Thaksin supporters whove been crowing on about juntas and coups can never play the democracy card again - sad!!!

The Champion of Democracy thing was only invented by him for the consumption of naive Western media after he got the boot. While he was in office he used to say things like, "Democracy is only a means to an end." and "The UN is not my father", criticised by the UN Rapporteur on human rights for murdering thousands of alleged drug dealers, who were mainly just on police hit lists for not paying protection money or not involved with drugs at all.

Thaksin is an absolute master manipulator. Brilliant strategist.

Whatever you are reading and thinking now, he is 2 steps ahead of you.

Interestingly nothing as yet for ING UNG, nor Chonlanan, who is by his own words, due to resign. Who's getting PH? Education?
