Is it normal and legal to publish data about his personal health issues?

Are all the health data from all prisoners published?

I always thought that kind of information is confidential.

It is all part of an orchestrated efforts to portray Thaksin as a sick man in poor health to justify a pardon on a grounds of, "Oh, he's harmless sickly old man, no point in keeping him in jail now."

I think it depends. 

 

If it has been leaked without consent then Thaksin could bring a legal claim. He also has a lot of control over the ministries involved.

 

If he doesn't do that then I'd suggest that maybe it's a good distraction for his supporters after siding with the military, again, despite the promises. 

 

For his critics it's an excuse for the fact he won't spend time in prison.

I think you're right. He'll be able to go, and do what he wants. He'll probably be able to leave the country,  with permission of course, which he will be able to get without any problems. Even Mars should that become possible.

Well we can all make smartass comments but none of us on AN actually has a clue as to his real state of health or what the current plans by and for him are.

 

It is certainly not impossible that he might be genuinely suffering the ailments that rich people of his age usually suffer (too much lavish foods, too little exercise, too much stress ... ), and all the excitement of the last few days has been almost more than his oldish body has been able to cope with ...

 

I guess we'll be in a better position any week now to offer yet more demonstrations of our collective nous and humanity.

I have no doubt that his poor condition will ultimately lead to a pardon and early release so his few remaining years can be spent with his family whereupon  his health will miraculously return to enable him to live a full and happy life

The dottori might be reminded of patient's rights and confidentiality. We all have our little assumptions on the health condition of Dr T yet officially the doctor has to keep his mouth shut as all that falls under privileged information. 

I am not a doctor but I saw the disembarkation at Don Meuang, the kneeling and the greetings as well as the returning back into the building. Given the emotional stress and the temperatures outside an ice-cold airport terminal I found, that Dr T took all that rather cool, no sweating and no signs of any discomfort ........
