Fugitive former culture minister Itthiphol Kunplome has offered to surrender to face corruption charges, in connection with the illegal issuance of a permit for the construction of a condominium in Pattaya.

 

Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, secretary-general of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), told the media today (Friday) that Itthiphol had offered to surrender, but declined to elaborate.

 

He did say that the former culture minister could, however, surrender to any governmental agency, because the warrant for his arrested was issued by a court, adding that he will be arrested on sight anyway.

Great news. Bit please let us know when he gets a verdict and sentence.

And please be real nice to him, perhaps offer him a royal suite, after all he was kind enough to offer to surrender.

I suspect his offer to the authorities is -- just give me the deal Thaksin got, and I'll be in to surrender in a heartbeat!  ????

 

Start having shortness or breath and chest pain and perhaps they'll put you in the room next to Tony.  Unless Tony has the entire floor to himself that is.

Yes he can join the convicted drug smuggler and soon criminal adviser to the PM.

Apples did not fall far from the tree in that family. I remember when he first became mayor. He was hyped as a real boy wonder. Those days are long gone for him.

The original article of the arrest warrant stated that the statute of limitation on the charges were reached about 3 days after the arrest warrant was issued.

 

So what they gonna charge him with?

A good start. Now, lets see a real investigation of the high crimes committed by the "three Pors" and other ministers within the toxic and horrific Prayuth administration.

IMHO, they're all criminals in some way or another... Just not all of them have actually been prosecuted and convicted yet. Same as their predecessors.

Reading the comments one might imagine that the OP was about Thaksin. Why do you people have such an obsession with the man?

Having completed what needed to be done  to secure his innocence he’s now ready to surrender. Wonder how much it cost him.

About 2-3 weeks ago the local radio station was reporting that the Limitation of Proceedings in the case was due to expire on 10 September 2023.

 

If that is correct, he is going to get away scot-free.

That would be the norm. 

No doubt he has negotiated his 2 weeks in hospital as his penance before offering himself to the courts
