A ruthless noodle shop owner went on a stabbing spree, claiming the lives of a Thai woman and a Canadian man in Khon Kaen. The assailant, disgruntled after quitting his job, couldn't tolerate the noisy gatherings of his Thai wife's friends and the Canadian neighbor. He wielded a knife ferociously, ending two lives before alerting the police.

 

At the stroke of 10:30 PM on December 14, 2023, Lieutenant General Pricha Kaengsakitchai, acting as the Deputy Chief of Police in Khon Kaen, led his team to address a horrifying double homicide at a dwelling in Ban Thum Village, reported Daily News.

 

Within the premises, Ngoung, a 47-year-old Thai woman, lay lifeless, marked by stab injuries to her neck, head, and torso in proximity to the entrance. Beside her, the lifeless form of Mr. Michael, a 54-year-old Canadian, was discovered, succumbing to a lethal stab wound positioned beneath his left nipple.

The perpetrator, identified as a silk noodle shop owner, had been residing near the crime scene since April 2023. The couple had been renting the house for seven months before the fatal incident.

 

The assailant, returning from selling noodles, consumed alcohol in the house. Tensions escalated between him and the victims when the Thai woman's foreign friend visited, leading to a fatal confrontation.

 

The police promptly arrested the suspect and initiated an investigation at the local police station to ensure justice for the victims.

Terrible thing to happen anywhere.  Very scary when it is in the village that you live. 

It amaze me every time, that it seems like Thai people can suddenly just go kill, and there is always an excuse. He didn´t tolerate high volume or he had been drinking. I don´t get the urge to kill when I am drunk. It doesn´t matter how drunk I am, which I assume goes for most persons. Here it seems like a normal thing for Thais, and we never read anything about that they might be, or is, mentally disturbed or have mental issues. However, as soon as a foreigner walks around a little bit angry and screaming in a street, then there are big reports about how disturbed that person is. For Thais that kill, they are just described to be in a fit of rage or as it would be an effect of drinking or taking other substances.

More great news for the Chinese tourists - NOT.  Are the Thailand authorities 'listening' - this is just one of the many many things that Thailand needs to address STRONGLY. Trial and execution within 2-3 months - that is about the only thing that will stop others doing the same thing when they get angry.  Drunks killing people, military/police nutters killing people/babies, boats killing people, women being raped and killed, people being killed in Malls, etc etc etc. All the positive PR and Rhetoric in the world is not going to work (anymore). Yes it happens elsewhere too - but not every day - day after day after day. Media story today about 7 Police arrested for corruption and another charged with rape. On and on and on it goes. And it is more and more impossible to 'cover it up' and just keep smiling.  The problems Thailand has are all post-covid - all the other local countries (except Myanmar) are going better - economically and socially. Yes economic growth and properity will solve a lot of the problems - but it is not coming quick enough - a lot of Thais are seriously struggling.

That's right. It's an excuse. Drinking, rooting, yaba, microsleep, cheating.... all just an excuse to release the anger at how truly garbage their country is.

You don't have to enter the noodle shop.  Just trigger the cutscene and save the game.  When you reload it the mission will start at the car chase.

I believe that there is a genetic trait in some Asians that prevents the breakdown of alcohol, a gene variant which generates a non functional enzyme. I stay away from Thais once they start drinking, even if they are good neighbours, as far as I know nothing has happened due to alcohol in my village but why take the risk.

I sympathize with this guy though. Thai's tend to do every they want to ignore everything around them and there's nothing you can do and no one cares. I can see this pushing people over the edge.

It’s only 2023 not 2024 RIP to the deceased this is a big problem in Thailand with Thai men being very violent when they have consumed alcohol no doubt the cheap Thai whiskey is to be blamed for his actions  problem is in 5 years time the murderer will be released from prison as taking a life is meaningless in Thailand

Try going to AA meetings in a jail in the Uk and you'll think differently.

3/4 court cases in Scotland are alcohol related.

American Indians are very suseptible.

And no-one mentions the possible meaning and implications of the Thai wife having a male 'foreign friend' who visits her? Even if nothing is going on, he will certainly be regarded as a threat to a drunken Thai man ... some chance that the Canadian lives in a nicer house, maybe has a car, etc etc. Wouldn't take much in addition to alcohol to push that situation over the edge
