Or does anyone else want to kick every poster that uses the sad or confused emoji in the teeth?

It’s not just you…

it’s used ver passive aggressively by weak minded idiots individuals who won’t put there name to a comment they dislike….

I’ve seen posters ‘trolled’ by repeated sad, confused or laughing emojis when they’ve made solid posts - it’s clear some idiots are just trolling.

A mistake if the forum IMO which enables posters to silently troll….

If someone honestly disagrees with a post there is nothing wrong with a negative emoji that is assigned to their user name.

I believe that those emoticons should contribute to a popular post. If they did, usage of them in trolling would decline a lot.

The anonymity completely undermines the validity of the feedback. There was a time when you could identify both like-minded folk, and stalkers, but no longer.

That is why when i think someone is an idiot, i comment to tell them.

Emojis?  What are those then?

Oh you mean those little pictures at the bottom of posts.  Can't say that I've paid any attention to them. I thought they were 'doodles' made by the forum to entertain little kids under the age of 5 years.....

Remember 'sticks and stones etc etc

The sad and confused emojis are only ever used to disparage. As such, they are offensive. People have a right to take offense, they do not have a right to give offense. They should not be there.

Its  not just you.

They are idiotic and the refuge of those who have nothing intermeshing to say. and the weak minded.

They limit conversation, but I suspect they are good for this forum because the count as a response and contribute to the stats by which the monetize this  forum .

Eybals for the advertisers, that's all we are to the business'' model.

Totally agree!

I very retrograde step to remove ID's IMO!

The only advantage to the owners of the forum is that those who post under more than one ID ( and we all know of at least a handful of them) can keep the clickbait count etc up without giving away who they are!

'Dick Splash' is another good un............edited to add 'pond life' as another.

I think its nice to thank a poster with one if they answer a question for you, or laugh at a funny comment, thats about it.

The use of a sad/confused emoji is the written equivalent of saying "whatever" when a pertinent response can't be found.

I disagree….  I don’t get worked up by the over use of such emojis & having an opinion on this is also not an example of getting ‘worked up’…., but find the overuse of such pathetic & sometimes cowardly…

& if you were so ambivalent to the whole concept, why do you also feel the need to pass comment…. Y’know, if it was something you really don’t care about ???

Don’t be like that mate, the good Princess Snowflake is trying to flex his big muscles.

He writes stupid shiite and gets offended when people can’t be bothered verbally letting him know  how foolish he is.

Maybe we need a big bassoon sound effect for ridiculous, attention seeking, whining posts 🤣

Well exactly. if you don't agree with a post and you can't offer a rational and respectful response, then you shouldn't have the option of hiding behind an anonymous "sad" emoji.

I give the benefit of the doubt to "confused" posters, on the grounds of there being a significant number of "fokk-wits" out there  !

I think Ricky G summed it up best when he said - 'What sort of person thinks that they have the right to live without ever being offended or insulted?

I use these icons from time to time. And why not?

I.e. a few days ago someone asked something like "why is Thailand so f up?"

I don't remember if I used confused or sad. Probably I would have used both icons if I could.

Some people are making confusing and or sad statements. What's the problem reacting to them appropriately?

And about above: If anybody has the urge to kick any poster here for any reason, that this person should consider seeing a mental health professional. Do you really want to kick anybody because of a few lines of text or an icon? Really. If yes, something is seriously wrong with you!

I'd love to see the stats on emoji count (broken down by each type) per user. Not specifying which post, but just an over all count.

I don't use them very much at all and estimate the sad or confused count to be less than a dozen.

EDIT: apart from THE god thread of course. Might have used a few thousand in there.

Joking aside, I think it should be possible to see who posted emojis - it used to be.

Are we not allowed to disagree with some post without having to engage in a conversation with what some would consider troll/trivial/asinine posts? And if you say just ignore those posts, I'll say just ignore the emojis.
