A reckless police officer under the influence of alcohol crashed his pickup into a motorcycle and dragged a 12 year old boy along the road in the Isaan province of Roi Et, leaving the victim hospitalised and in critical condition.

The crash between the two vehicles on Prem Pracharath Road was reported to Mueang Roi Et Police Station at 9.50am today, February 1. Upon investigation, the pickup was not present at the scene. Police found only the 12 year old victim, Warit Puengpaisarn, who bore scratches all over his body and suffered a major wound to his face.

Warit was rushed to the Roi Et Hospital by a rescue team. The hospital revealed that both of his arms were broken and the boy was in critical condition.

Warit’s grandmother, Supaporn, recounted the accident to the police saying she and her grandson were travelling to the Tung Charoen Fresh Market. She was riding and Warit was a passenger.

The cop either pulled an all nighter or started way too early.

Hang him out to dry...literally!

Maybe better to read the article first  under the influence of alcohol

Erm...   you have never heard of the phrase...  "pulling an all nighter" referring to an all night drinking session ?...

... here's another phrase for you... "letting your foot off the clutch too early" !!!!

Pretty sure he meant pulled an all-nighter out boozing or started boozing very early in the morning.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Somsong Sriardree-aram. Somsong was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 321 milligrammes percent, far above the legal limit of 50 milligrams per cent.

Glad they called him out by name. He should be shamed to no end, his reputation should be completely soiled, and he should be locked up for a significant period of time. If the police cannot be held to a higher standard what does this say about a society? It's a very sorry statement and an act perpetrated by an extremely heinous, ridiculous, pathetic, unmanly person who does not even measure up to the standard of a real man.

I wouldn't be surprised if Big Joke gets the cretin off the hook, they sure don't like prosecuting their own.

I think instead of the current name that they have, the proper name should be STP (Soiled Thai Police. Seems like both the army and the police have an exceptionally high number of men who misbehave, and are major social misfits and  delinquents.

When you havev situations like this how can you expect other road users to obey the law?

Most people have common sense and come from countries where DUI is unacceptable

The "Perpetrator" is a member of the RTP.

Everything will be swept under the carpet after a week, the boy and his mother will be get the message that they better keep quit about the matter and life goes on the beautiful Land of Smiles.

Just my 2 cents input in this thread ....
