Thalang –Three Russians were arrested at a vehicle rental shop in Cherng Talay for work permit related offenses.

The Region 8 Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (March 5th) they arrested three Russian men who were identified only as MR. STEPAN, 38, MR. DMITRII, 34, and MR. ROMAN, 43.

They were arrested at a company on Sri Soonthorn Road in Cherng Talay which was being operated as a vehicles rental shop. The full name of the shop was withheld by Thai police due to the ongoing investigation.

All 3 prime soldier age........keep up the good work Region 8 police, you may find several hundreds of thousands more, they are all here for long term and do not have the financial means to do so..........time to stop selling them long term stamps !!!!!

Deport and black list them!

Russia and Kazakhstan 90 day visa free entry should be cancelled. They should apply for visa before entering Thailand.

No doubt the brown envelope system of running a business was carefully explained to them.

TAT thought they would just come here, lay on the beach all day, drink beer all night and be good tourists...

never work or find an avenue of income in Thailand.

How naive was Phipat

This is just down the road from me, very large operation, dozens of quality cars for rent obviously making plenty of money, I pass it everyday. Serves them right.

So Stephan has a work permit, but the other two don't. I would be interested how Mr. S. got his permit to work.

To be fair, this news was published in a main newspaper that cannot be linked, which listed many foreigners found to be on overstay and/or working illegally in Phuket. Part of the increased checks after the Swiss guy incident. In addition to the three russians mentioned here, the list included plenty of other nationalities including Brits and many others. But they are less interesting apparently.

On the island there is few car rent with some High end cars, all top of the range,
