March 18, 20241 yr Popular Post it seems that Phuket people have a real dislike towards farangs. I have spent quite a bit of time there in the past and the animosity from the locals was striking! There is a specific facebook gorup based in Phuket that advocates discrimination and even violence against farang. I wont mention the name, but if you are in the know then you know! what is it with Phuket specifically? why do the locals seem to have a deep dislike for farangs? BKK, Patts, CNX, even Samui doesnt seem to have this level of distaste for the holidaymaker. considering Phuket is an island that is based on tourism and needs the tourist dollar to survive - you would think the locals would be happy about them being there, especially after the pandemic when many phuket locals were out of work. what's it all about? bob.

But let's not forget, the holiday resorts are where the money is, folk come from all over LOS and beyond to earn a living there, just a fact of Thai life, that they have to put up with people like you........😁

So if you want the Island without tourists or farangy residents, how do the locals and the thousands of other Thai staff earn a living.......? Thai folk do not have to like those they provide a service for, fact, sunbeam....🤗
March 18, 20241 yr Popular Post I miss Phuket. Havent been in 12 months. The only thing I dont like is transport costs. Otherwise it is pretty good. Nice beaches, nice food, cheap rooms, plenty of women. Easy to avoid the bogans. They hang out at Bangla Rd.

Is she a farangy, then.......? 🤭 I stayed in a very nice hotel there in 2009, very nice, we were quite impressed but the food, beer & wine prices were ridiculous...... Plus, a beach restaurant gave me food poisoning via a lobster........
March 18, 20241 yr Lived there for a decade and loved it till th traffic got too much. As every local will tell you, Patong is not Phuket and for most Thais Phuket is not even Thailand.

Phuket has friendly people and fun people and a few scammy people and jaded people. Tourist areas have more of the fun people and more of the scammy and jaded people than a town in the country side. So go to Phuket and search out the fun people and stop whinging like a bitch. Or stay where you are and keep whinging about some where you don't even want to go to.
