Removing footwear is the norm in Thailand. Far from stupid - I think that it is a great idea. Beats walking dirt, dog poo, whatever all over the place.

Maybe the lady lives in a shophouse? We do not know. It could also be her home.

The victim is the owner of the shop. Forget your western approach of 'it's the law'. No work - no dosh.

Go to any 7-11  any shopping mall, any hairdressers, any jewellery store... get my drift,  footwear is not removed, where did you get this "norm" from. I wonder if the Thai "lady" removes her shoes when entering other stores.

Sorry that my PArkinson's typing upsets you.

There's no need to capitalize the first 2 letters in Parkinsons.

"...in Parkinsons".

Your editing ability, for which you were patting yourself on the back so enthusiastically, missed that there is a need for an apostrophe in Parkinson's.

I guess that Russian had abused vodka!

So he was not in a way to make the difference between:

- a pregnant woman and a soccer ball

- a Thai shop and a soccer stadium

So he could not figure out, why he had to remove his shoes...

"He"?  Which incident are you going on about?

I really think that the thai public is entitled to the CCTV footage in order to form an opinion based on the evidence of the accusation.

The public really does not have that entitlement, it is none of the public's business.

Maybe.  Or police could have politely explained, apologize or be deported, regardless of lack of evidence.

"...apologize or be deported..."

She is not in any danger of being deported for what she did, where did you get that from?

What's presently played out by Authorities and eagerly lapped up by compliant MSM and social media is nothing more than an attempt to divert attention away from the real problems of the country - 10'000 baht scheme delayed and most likely being scrapped, skyhigh indebtness of people, a big part unsecured, sluggish economic growth etc.

It never ceases to amaze me - the level of nonsense dreamt up by people on this forum.

If you encourage people to add to your garbage pile, don’t complain of the stench. Thai authorities are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. By giving these entitled draft dodgers an open invitation they are opening themselves to more crime and bribes. In the mean time people are staying away from Russian enclaves.

Farang has a racial/xenophobic undertone, not as strong as the N word, but it's there nevertheless.

Rubbish.

You must be some sort of snow flake to think that.

An article that does not refer to a Brit at all, yet you have to show your discrimination against Brits once again.

Happy to. I was replying to John Drakes post.

And I might add, despite your PC wokeness, there is no anti discimination laws in Thailand to prevent people from expressing their opinions about Brits.

Farang = Caucasian in denotation ,that is  rubbish. Nothing to do with being a snow flake.

All about what the average Thai means when he uses the word.

Some people need to grow a brain. Unfortunately that isn't possible yet.

AI might open up new  possibilities, so don't despair .
