You are the biggest scaremonger here, there's enough hatred from members, Thai basher but you take the cake, you just keep stirring, making up phoney stories.

I read that you were packing your bags and heading back to where you come from, what's the delay?

Thailand is not for you.

Good Bye

Saying 'hello' in Thai (สวัสดีครับ - sawat di krap) hardly qualifies as 'speaking Thai' since even foreign tourists straight off the plane can often manage that.  If you said you'd engaged her in a political discussion in Thai then I might believe you.

I speak reasonable Thai for over 30 years and whilst its true that some locals can be a bit wary ('you know too much') I don't ever recall an unwillingness to take my money.

Name the place Bob... am sure there will be an AN member near by to go there..order food and speak thai.

They will have the same experience right.... RIGHT ?

Can’t name names here Ralf, defamation and all that.

you know that, right…. RIGHT ?

More cobblers...it's not defamatory to name a restaurant that you patronised and was asked to leave.

Or he could just name the restaurant he had 3 beers at....

He won't because he's lying of course....

I'll add no more to this thread as its clearly feeding the troll...   everyone else should follow suit.

three beers and a sandwich ........      I think restaurant might be pushing it a bit Bob !

When I was young I avoided speaking Thai to most girls as they said I knew too much. Strange because the only reason I learned Thai was that, back in 1980, very few girls spoke any English at all. Now that I am old and they don't care, speaking Thai opens many doors that wouldn't otherwise be opened and I get gratuitously complimented on my Thai fairly often even though I am far from fluent. Thais a re fairly perceptive and with even just a few words they know I've been around the traps a long time. I never get push back from speaking Thai. I'm pretty sure that when I was young the girls resented that I had obviously been around. Now that I'm old they don't care.

Normally, I give Bob the benefit of the doubt due to my kind nature....

Basically, you said hello and thank you in Thai. Same as anyone 10 minutes off the plane on their first trip to Thailand can do.

Unless I've just shat myself, I can smell BS on this one.

I give him the benefit of the doubt. I think some Thais are happy to see tourists but they aren't so keen on the defacto residents and see them as being a bit too thrifty.

Here’s the problem Ralf.

you can’t prove it’s crap, as you put it.

I was there, you weren’t.

Just because it doesn’t fit in with your idealistic view of Thailand doesn’t mean that it never happened!

get over yourself, man.

Have you ever played with the notion that all of the negativity that seems to surround you is because of You?
