Chonburi — A collision on the Chonburi Motorway left 26 Chinese tourists injured Tuesday afternoon, March 19th, 2024.

The accident occurred at around 4:30 PM near kilometer marker 65 + 900, on a lane inbound to Bangkok, in the Mueang district, Chonburi province.

The local rescue team responded to the scene alongside highway police. They found a white bus with significant front-end damage. The bus had collided with the rear of a white Hino 18-wheeler.

All 26 passengers on the bus, a group of Chinese tourists, sustained various injuries. The extent of the injuries was not revealed to the press, but the victims (9 men and 17 women) were quickly transported to local hospitals.

Same old, same old.

Carry on......

I have always called these coaches, and there are loads of them on the roads......often travelling in groups of several vehicles too. They make a nuisance of themselves trying to get about and avoid  roadworks and using detours around town. They are now often on The Railway Line bypass and trying to cross and turn on and off it... near impossible.

Minor damage compared to the normal accidents, it didn't even turn over, call that an accident, show me another one

Tourist safety is our primary concern....

And still the Chinese come to Thailand, like lemmings to a cliff.

So, no safety belts? Or not being used ...

Another "little incident" which will spread in China. There will probably follow some more during Songkran.

Truck not shown in any photos. Released and allowed to leave without comment? No mention of the truck driver. Appears the police investigation is focused solely on the bus driver and passengers that would imply bus driver potentially at fault.

There was another bus 'accident' yesterday, one today, and there'll be another tomorrow. Part of the fun and excitement of being in Thailand, wondering if today will be your turn to be injured or killed.

Agree, I thought this was law now, and a 2k fine for not wearing them.

If you drive in to the back of a vehicle in front, you must automatically be at fault whatever the particular circumstances.

At least that's how it is in any sensible Western country ...

Correct, but not in Thailand, where Police will assign blame to whomever they believe was at fault.

How you not see a 18 wheeler? Think taking a bus in Thailand is like sky diving without a parachute.😀

What make is that bus? just asking.

Appears to be a Yutong.

As I thought Chinese. I was involved in R & D on Chinese Truck cranes in OZ, we had to widen the rear axles by about 25 cm each side to meet the width v height ratio of tipping over, regulations. not to mention a lot of other safety issues.

I think the Chinese will think twice before a holiday in Thailand, look on Tik Tok the comments, ouiee

another one

that is pretty much 1-2 per week
