CharlieH
Bangkok Dating – Bangkok Ranks in the Top 5 for the Highest Number of Registered Intercultural Marriages in Thailand! What Makes Foreigners More Appealing Partners to Thai Women in Thailand? Statistics reveal that Bangkok ranks in the Top 5 provinces with the highest number of registered marriages with foreigners in Thailand. This includes marriages between Thai men and foreign women, as well as Thai women and foreign men. Bangkok topped the list in the year 2566 (Buddhist calendar), with a staggering 5,872 registered couples. Following Bangkok are Chiang Mai with 746 couples, Chonburi with 727 couples, and Chiang Rai with 391 couples. The Top 5 list concludes with the tourist destination of Phuket, registering 343 couples. The data clearly shows that there are substantially more Thai women registering marriages with foreign men than Thai men registering marriages with foreign women. Thai women marrying foreign men outnumber Thai men marrying foreign women by a factor of approximately 6.5. At Bangkok Matching, Thailand’s leading and longest running matchmaking agency, foreign men seeking Thai women for serious dating, relationship and marriage typically possess high-profile backgrounds, excellent education, and affluent status, ranging from holders of master’s and doctoral degrees to business owners, doctors, engineers, and professionals from various fields. Many of these individuals, hailing from diverse corners of the globe, express a strong desire to date Thai women. However, there is a smaller number of foreign women seeking Thai men through the same service. This analysis suggests that not only are Thai women open to and interested in marrying foreign spouses, but foreigners themselves also seek Thai wives with outstanding profiles.Consequently, the marriage rate between Thai women and foreign men continues to rise each year, with a trend indicating further increases. 4 Reasons Why Thais are Marrying Foreigners More Through research on “Thai Women’s Marriage to Foreigners” we have uncovered intriguing insights into why Thais choose to marry foreigners. These insights address key questions that many readers may have. Are foreigners more sincere in love? Do they offer more romance or financial stability? Bangkok Matching Matchmaking Agency has identified 4 primary reasons behind the increasing trend of Thai women marrying foreigners. Below is a sample of what makes foreigners more appealing partners to Thai women in Thailand. 1. Changing Social Norms: Thai women, especially those with high profiles, are increasingly marrying foreigners based on their own preferences and tastes, rather than solely for the purpose of elevating their social status or that of their families. Previously, it was often assumed that Thai women married foreigners to escape poverty or improve their social standing. However, this belief is gradually fading as Thai women with education, social status, or financial independence are more open to dating and marrying foreigners. The stability and equality in foreign partners’ status and financial capabilities offer new opportunities and perspectives compared to marrying Thai men. 2. Past Relationship Experiences: Thai women may be drawn to foreigners due to negative experiences in past relationships with Thai men. Many cite foreigners’ perceived attentiveness and caring nature as significant factors. This perception stems from issues such as domestic violence, infidelity, and feeling undervalued by Thai partners, contributing to a significant portion of Thai women experiencing domestic abuse, with up to 62.5% citing such experiences. Consequently, foreign men are viewed as more caring, emotionally supportive, and financially reliable partners. 3. Age Limitations Are Less of a Concern: In Thai society, finding a partner becomes increasingly challenging with age, particularly for women. However, in Western societies, age is not a significant barrier to finding love. Additionally, having a previous marriage or children is not a major obstacle to remarriage for Westerners, contrasting with traditional. Thai expectations. Therefore, Thai women are more open to relationships and marriages with older foreign men, regardless of their age or family background. 4. Broadened Perspectives: Thai women appreciate foreign partners’ broader perspectives on gender roles and domestic responsibilities. In Thai society, women are often expected to take on traditional roles as homemakers and caretakers, even if they are successful professionals. Foreign men, however, are more likely to share household duties and childcare responsibilities equally, viewing such contributions as essential rather than optional. This mindset aligns with the desires of modern Thai women for equality and fairness in relationships, making foreigners more appealing partners. These reasons collectively reflect a shift in Thai women’s attitudes towards dating, relationships, and marriage, with an increasing number seeking compatibility and understanding over traditional gender roles. Popular Post blazes
I once asked my then GF (now wife) why she loved me (as she claimed). She gave me 5 reasons that immediately came to her head without thinking: 1. You don't shout. 2. You take shower daily. 3. You don't smoke. 4. You are "lor" (translation left to reader) 5. You are "nam jai" (ditto). It no doubt helps that the ATM is my friend. But I think a lot of Thai women, like my wife, silently enter marriage with the notion that "I take care you; you take care me". Simple but effective "contract." 3 5

Popular Post spidermike007
Having spoken to quite a few Thai women about this topic, I've heard things like many foreigners drink a lot less which is very appealing, a lot of foreigners are romantic and treat their women with respect, and are kind-hearted with women. And most don't engage in aggressive behavior towards them. Of course there's the element of financial security too, but that always comes into play no matter where you are. 2 2 1

It is all about the money though, so most Thai men lose. I think, in general, that sums it up. Maybe we should ask: How many Thai women would choose a farang if Thai men with the same income were available for them? It seems most mixed relationships here are between relatively poor Thai girls and women and farangs who have a lot more money/income than those women. When I met my poor, small, cute and brown gf, I don't think any Thai men were interested in her. The Thai males I talked to (in general) all wanted white, tall and not so skinny girls. Even now, when I ride in a taxi, and the driver ask me if I have a wife, I say yes, she is small and brown and they laugh. Like, why would any guy want a small brown girl? There are huge differences in our culture and almost anything else. We can overcome those hurdles, but a relationship with people with similar upbringing is just so much easier. 4 1 1

Farang men of any age also want young and pretty and no kids. But many farang men go for the first Thai women who they think loves them, even if she is already over 30 and has kids. I am sure many of those men think later that maybe they should have spent some more time before making a commitment. 2 1

Popular Post FruitPudding
Thais don't date or marry below their own socioeconomic class - however foreigners do - so most women in the country only have two choices: 1. Poor village bloke 2. Farang It's that simple. 2 1 1

And besides farang, that's all they can get because high class Thai men don't marry low class Thai women. Thai men from higher social classes do not typically exhibit these traits as described above. If you were talking to high class women they'd be speaking highly of their men Edited March 28 by FruitPudding 1

As for foreigners, don't think I've ever met one in Thailand that had higher social status than a Thai hooker. Popular Post seajae
my wife and several of her friends want/ed foreign husbands due to the childish thai men that want many giks, drink a lot and the women to support them, they want genuine males that treat them as equals and where love grows not disappears as soon as they are married. All these women were/are in comfortable positions with great wages and already owning their own homes, they do not want butterflies that have huge egos, they want faithful husbands that treat them well but a lot of farangs are just as bad if not worse than thai men, its all sex and alcohol for them plus a huge ego. 2

Popular Post goldenbrwn1
I think a lot of the comments here would have been far more relevant even only 10 years ago. I have noticed the shift in Thai women’s opinions on western men. Not true at all, they initially gravitate towards Thai men because of language and culture, not anything else in particular. The times I have seen self-denigrating on this board or others quoting the stereotypes of old, fat farang wearing Beer-labelled tank tops by posters. It's a lot of nonsense and low self-esteem. Many people, Thai and Foreigners, view this as a contract of tolerance. They get to travel, live well and not worry about where the next meal is coming from or who will pay the utility bill and the foreigner gets the obvious. There are horrendous stories of violence, mia nois, etc in Thai with Thai relationships. Sometimes, people just want to live and let live. I know my other half does and has no regrets about never getting involved long-term with a Thai male. 1
