Joe Ferrari has been tried and imprisoned.

And how many other exceptions are there to the rule that the RTP never, ever, under any circumstances get tried, prosecuted, convicted and imprisoned.

How many others can you cite? Sometimes when a crime is so open and so notoriously and gets so much attention the RTP and the dysfunctional justice system has no choice other than to act, but it is almost certainly against their will.

This young Dr is obviously (to me) being coached big time for fame and fortune. Davey boy is probably guilty of something no doubt in my mind.   Thing is that Dr's here are held in god

And what is 'real justice' for kicking someone? She wasn't injured, and most people would have shouted in protest at him and moved on. But he was a foreigner so there was an opportunity to milk the situation and blow it up out of all proportion. So she spread it on social media, complained when she became 'stressed' when it received the attention she wanted, and now she's like a dog with a bone and won't let go. Now, and all along, she's just being vindictive. Anyone who thinks otherwise, would any of us act the way she has in our own country. I very much doubt it. We absolutely would not get the PM's office involved.

I am not supporting the arrogant bully in any way, and we all know how 'justice' works in Thailand (who has the biggest wallet wins). But you know and I know that if it was a Thai who kicked her, we would have heard nothing about it. Maybe now she can enjoy the 'fairness' of her country's corrupt justice system. Seems that it's already begun. The system is unfair, but so was her decision to pick a fight with someone she thought was fair game as he was a foreigner. She made a mountain out of a mole hill, something very common in Thailand where common sense is absent.

She was injured, pictures have been posted of the red mark on her back caused by the kick. It must have hurt a lot to create such a mark

Rubbish, Dave is his own worst enemy.......😏

I would add if Dave's wife had kept her mouth shut he would be in better shape. She antagonised Tarndao to the extent that there are now 2 Thai women at each other's throats which, as many of us know, is not a pretty sight. Having said that, Dave's action was that of a thug and he deserves all the trouble he is now in.

No!!! Not at all! She suffers from PTSD! So, I'm sure she'll do everything physically possible to avoid the press or any sort of publicity that would aggravate her frail mental health! I'm sure she must have been forced into talking about this. :violin:

"Dave' as in he's a real friend or 'Dave' as in being over familiar with an arrogant bully?

What's wrong with just stating his surname or just his full name?

'Dave' gives this thug credibility.

Because I am a friendly type of chap......😉

The Thai doctor who was a victim in the Swiss scandal case in Phuket revealed that an unidentified person offered her and her family a bribe in exchange for withdrawing the lawsuit against the Swiss man.

The female doctor, 26 year old Tarndao Chandam, took to social media and accused the 45 year old Swiss man, Urs Fehr, of physically assaulting her by kicking her in the back. The incident took place outside Fehr’s luxury villa on the beach near Yamu Cape in the Thalang district of Phuket on February 24.

Fehr denied the allegation, claiming the kick was an accident. Subsequently, he then released a video of the incident to the public in an attempt to prove his innocence. Regrettably, the video served to strengthen the public’s belief that Fehr did indeed brutally assault the victim. The majority of netizens overwhelmingly agreed that Fehr deliberately kicked the Thai doctor.

The case is still under process and no official charges have been issued against any parties. It has garnered significant attention from Thai people and had a significant impact on a foreign community in Phuket on the back of Fehr’s assault.

Several illegal foreigners in the province have been arrested and several businesses owned by foreigners were raided, including the elephant sanctuary of Fehr.

Tarndao recently held a meeting with Thanakrit Jit-aree, the assistant minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, to pursue justice. During the meeting, she shared her concerns with Thanakrit and various Thai news agencies, highlighting certain suspicious actions by certain officers and expressing doubts about the transparency of the justice processes.

Money offer

Tarndao explained that the police asked her to sign an urgent document at the Phuket Provincial Court Prosecutor’s Office. The Thai authorities reportedly told Tarndao that they would charge Fehr under Section 391 of the Criminal Law instead of Section 295, which would result in a lighter penalty.

Under Section 295, the perpetrator will face imprisonment of up to two years, a fine of up to 40,000 baht, or both for physically assaulting another person which causes harm to the victim’s body and mind.

However, under Section 391, the perpetrator will face imprisonment of up to one month, a fine of up to 10,000 baht, or both for using force to harm another person without causing physical or mental harm.

Tarndao disagreed with this decision and complained to the Prime Minister’s Office. She reiterated her determination to proceed with legal action against Fehr for breaching Section 295, rather than Section 391.

According to a report by Phuket Times today, April 10, Tarndao and her family were contacted by an unidentified person regarding the case. Phuket Times stated that this person offered a large sum of money to Tarndao and her father in exchange for dropping the lawsuits against Fehr.

Tarndao’s father insisted that he and his daughter would never accept money from anyone and stated that they would visit the Office of The Attorney General to pursue the case to the fullest extent.

Erm... Where is the evidence that he is a racist? You've been calling him all sorts of names in this thread, which I don't mind, but you will lose a lot more credibility if you start making things up.

As I said. The kick will have been hard and very painful to create such a mark. Not a mountain out of a molehill but a very serious assault. Why do you think he's being held in police custody

Agreed, is she seriously injured? Has she lost her ability to walk? Or to function physically any differently than prior to the hit in the back?

My God, drop it. Let the system deal with it how it normally gets dealt with. Whats the point? She will not change this system.

"Let the system deal with it how it normally gets dealt with."

One could argue that "how it normally gets dealt with" is for the case to hang around until an offer of money is accepted.

He kicked the wrong person.

The family has been waiting for this all their lives it seems.

I wonder who is whispering in their ear?

They wouldn't pursue this with such fortitude if it didn't meet some political agenda

I think it is amazing how many farangs here want that the Swiss guy should go to jail and be thrown out of Thailand and whatever else punishment.

Is what he did really such a huge crime in your eyes?

Did you do ever anything illegal in Thailand, maybe pay a girl for a service or so? Remember, that is illegal in Thailand. You should go to jail and thrown out. Or maybe not?

Yes, he did something wrong, and he should be punished. But he didn't kill her. He didn't injure her so that she couldn't walk. He didn't injure her so that she is permanently disabled. He kicked her, it hurt a little, and that was about it.

Uh huh.

it is amazing how some here can turn everything back to the sex trade.

so paying a sex worker for their service is a crime equivalent to kicking her?

that is some quality logic right there

Well, either a Mr. Angry or has a superiority complex....

I mean, who doesn't like ambulance drivers............😂

Brown envelopes getting out of stock in Phuket.. surely the Swiss guy is guilty of something, probably a to big ego that a stranger strolling in front of his villa?

The police are doing the right thing (i know world turning upside down) she has no physical injuries from the assault and mental harm is hard to prove definitively, if she continues to push the mental issues she is allegedly suffering from she might have her medical license suspended (depending what type of doctor she is )

she is definitely enjoying he 3 weeks of fame and is desperate to remain in the spotlight,

Maybe you haven’t acquainted yourself with all aspects of this case; he initially said that he didn’t know it was a Thai national that he kicked. He said he thought it was a Chinese woman … how’s that for racism ?

And BTW, have you got anything on topic to say about this issue, or do you just troll threads to see if you can find any comments to criticise. With the thread 7 pages old, your comment to me appears to be your first one.

Thai doctors are product of the Thai educational system…enough said

and no, they do not get educated in the west for medical school b/c they can’t get in from HS…remember they go from HS to medical school here completely bypassing 4 years of college - required in the west

when you hear they are trained in the west….that refers to residencies and internships in which the Thai gov pays big bucks to send them for these programs…it’s a win for both…revenue to the schools and a piece of paper saying they received practical training in the west but required to return to thailand to meet their gov obligation of one year of training for 2 years  formula in gov hospitals…which many leave then for private hospitals once their mandatory commitment has been met
