Pattaya City Invests 30 Million Baht in Mobile Toilet Trucks for Tourism Boost

Pattaya City has spent 30 million baht on six new mobile toilet trucks to facilitate tourists, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities during events. Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai announced the acquisition of the new vehicles on April 25, 2024.

This will augment the existing fleet of three older toilet trucks, which due to their large size and age, were becoming inadequate to accommodate the rising number of tourists, particularly during large events.

The new toilet trucks are compact, making them flexible for utilization in tight spaces. They include units specifically designed for elderly and disabled people, featuring hydraulic lifts. Two of the six vehicles offer over six restrooms for both genders. The remaining four feature standard units with two bathroooms each.

Initially, the three trucks available will be stationed at Walking Street, near the Pattaya City water pump station, and Central Beach when there are no events.

Manoch expects the remaining three trucks to be available by May 2024. He believes this initiative will greatly enhance restroom accessibility for tourists and residents on Jomtien and Pattaya beaches.

...got it! time to drink lots of beer without fear of not knowing where to relieve yourself.

Had the useless buses re-kitted out perhaps?

5 million baht per toilet truck. Amazing.

I would love to see the detailed invoices what makes them so expensive.

Looking at the picture above the cheap plastic bum guns are not the reason.

All the other genders will not be pleased with that ,they will want their own toilet...

Is six options enough for all the gender dysphoria and confusion one sees nowadays?

The toilets are for foreigners only; Thais will continue to use the grass verges at the side of every road.

I wonder how many proper toilets they could have built for B30m

I certainly hope these trucks dont park in the no parking lane next to the beach...

I only use the bum gun at home, 'cos they're good....however....go to a mall or something with guns, and one needs a wet suit to use the crapper

Will they be Chemical ones or fresh water ? is Pattaya city set up for the disposal ? 20 new toilets for how many people ? How often will they get cleaned?  What a bargain 1.5m per toilet  :cheesy:

Absolutely, but first rip up the new path to put the infrastructure in. :giggle:

I love the smell of blue chemical on an evening stroll, what could be more pleasant...........:giggle::coffee1:

Of course, when there ARE events, you are siht out of luck.

Between 30 and 60 depending on how fat the envelopes are.

Well, apparently they now have 6 mobile ones, I guess some people are getting new Mercedes's this year.

A total of twelve restrooms and eight bathrooms.

Any toilets?

How hard is it to walk to Central Festival and use their toilets...?  They are free and pretty nice...

Yes Folks thats close to 45,000 USD per toilet....For this money you could have turned a few of those 5-10 baht beach road beer bar bathroom complexes into the Taj Mahal  of public bathrooms for people at the beach to use...

I believe they will be stolen and never found again.

Because the Police will have nothing to go on.

Well for the Fireworks competition that would have taken a good half hour, I was located further North and the Beach Rd was hellish crowded. Fortunately The Holiday Inn had opened up some facilities, for free too.

A day late and a £ short for the British Fecal/ fountain shower man.

Word has it he's on his way back to the UK to debut his show in Blackpool, where it will go unnoticed.

Will these portable toilets have attendants rubbing your shoulders and toweling off you codger as part of the 30 million baht price tag?
