Sad thing is they will probably win the case... oh well.. TIT...

If the presenter cant back up what he has said with actual evidence then absolutely he should be held accountable and taken to court. That would be the case in any country.

In a more liberal , less autocratic country , this ridiculous defamation law would not even exist . In this country it is nothing but a tool to silence the opposition and opinions that differ . H

Interpols Red list (allegedly)

The kid is not on the Interpol Red List.  I've looked.  You won't find him.  That's just PR fluff.

Chalerm's lawsuit is centred on a broadcast aired on 29 February, where the host claimed his 300 million baht efforts failed to aid his son significantly. The programme's segments were shared extensively on TikTok, garnering over 1.4 million views, which Chalerm’s legal team contends has severely damaged his reputation.

No. The son who killed a cop and fled the country without returning for justice has severely damaged Chalerm's reputation. They wanted this covered up and now they are suing a broadcaster.

Both are accused of making defamatory statements on a television programme that implied Chalerm bribed officials to help his son evade justice.

The truth must not be said... arse about face Thailand.

I don't.  Go out and pick a kratom leaf and chew it.  Much better effect than these horrid tasting "energy drinks."  🤮

The father should be saying where the kid is hiding I mean how many people run over cop and kill him then get in private chat fly to Singapore then send a letter to the court saying he’s too sick to come bizarre world TIT

Maybe they should convince their family member "boss" to come to Thailand and let a judge decide.

Or is too much transparency against the family ethics?

Nah - the criminal court system and prisons are only for commoners and political enemies of whomever is in power at the moment.

In a country where the defamation law does not allow 'truth' as a defence?

Are you that ignorant?

Reputation.

Personally I wouldn't want to have a reputation like that bunch and if I did I'd be very quiet after all that's gone down.

Streisand effect - I'd never even heard about this February event till now 555.

Such writing ha ha.

Article states "Chalerm's lawsuit is centred on a broadcast aired on 29 February, where the host claimed his 300 million baht efforts failed to aid his son significantly"

So is Chalerm claiming this damaged his reputation, because the bribes did not fail to aid his son, but they actually did aid his son?

"How dare you insult me by saying that my bribes are no good,"

Bad writing? Bad translation/interpretation?

Yeah, know what you mean, but...

Does the common sense concern you? There is a distinct lack of it in this thread and on vast number of threads here in general.

Common sense?  I do see opinions.  So, no -- "common sense" doesn't concern me.  I'm commenting on Lou's proclivity to come into a thread and respond to 10 people in a row, often in unnecessarily insulting terms.

Come on now.... What else is Lou going to do for the rest of the day?

If he hasn't wound up 10 people before his second coffee then he's gonna have a bad day!

I would sue too. If Boss had been an Isarn farmer, it would have been 50,000 baht fine, definitely no jail, but as he is rich, drove a nice car, he has been hounded for years.

The family has given millions of baht to the victims family.

Bit late as the time limit is almost up.

Shameful. Boycott their poison if you are ignorant enough to drink it. Red bull is a health hazard.

That is an interesting point you raise.

I have said thisa for a long time and I will say this again. The Family helped him escape - by both paying off people and by organising him to leave the country - and they have been paying for his continued living overseas.  They should all be arrested and charged with aiding and abetting. The Father, Mother, Brothers and Sisters and anyone else in the family house that he escaped into and hid in, and from where he escaped and left the country. They should all be charged will aiding and abetting a criminal evade capture and charges for murder. If they can prove they did not help and assist him, and have not helped and assisted him over the years, then and only then find them innocent and let them go. No Bail.

Thailand is seen by the world as a corrupt society and this one example, amongst the many thousands of others, is the proof for most that Thailand is corrupt.  If Thailand wants to be seen on the world stage as a country that is just a nit noi above Nigeria or Somalia as a corrupt country, then deal with this issue once and for all.  If the Father wins his case, Thailand will forever be seen as a corrupt country and the stink will never go away.

He could always go on TV and explain what the widespread misinformation is, where is son is, and why he ran away and continues to hide.

Hopefully the court will insist the Son appear as a supporting witness for his Father for the case to be heard.....but after giving evidence, he be allowed to escape back into hiding 🤣

There is a Red Notice but what could the father sue Interpol for when there is a warrant for Vorayuth's arrest?    Interpol is not interested in, nor has ever made any reference to Chalerm, neither has it defamed him.

Wasn't that the one that disappeared March 2018.

The RTP said they issued another one 2020, but it never appeared on Interpol's site
