Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, 83 quid a day including accommodation and transport. His overheads must have been quite high. :coffee1:

Probably a millionaire by now if he's been at it for years

He's just a kid with good work skills and obviously found a niche market that wasn't being filled.    Pity he didn't do it via correct channels.

He wasn't "posing" as a tour guide and running a "scheme", he was an actual tour guide, running tours. He was violating employment laws, but it doesn't sound like he was defrauding his customers.

If he wins an Olympic medal, one calls him British. If he does a crime, one calls him Pakistani.

There are no correct channels, and it's prohibited. The only thing he SHOULD have done was hire a Thai with a bronze license.

Some people don't know the difference between 'free' and 'included'.

'Ensuring tourist safety and the integrity of the tourism sector remains a top priority for Thai authorities.'

They have got to be joking? Surely no one believes this.

If “ priority for tourism safety “ meant anything at all to the authorities, they could arrest immediately at least 50% of the mini van drivers who “ legally” put you on deaths road, the authorities would install real red lights at crossings and working cameras, and speed controls on the main roads ( 20 000 dead a year must surely count  ? and tourist buses would be checked and most taken off the roads.  Thailand is still a third world country on a par with African countries , so the government should stop blowing their own trumpet !!!
