Hello Mate,

So sorry to hear of your situation and hope you can find somewhere suitable for your wife's chances of recovery and meanwhile enjoying some level of comfort.

I have one idea

I am in Lampang, close to a house I am aware of that is available at a very low rate and is only 6 kms from a dedicated cancer hospital. The house is very nice and spacious beside a lake and is fully equipped.

If you think it would be possible to transfer your wife's treatment from Chiang Mai to Lampang that would be ideal.

If cost is a very important factor. then the house to which I refer is about B6,000 per month. It has aircon, only 5 kms from the city centre and in a fairly quiet area.

The cancer hospital itself  is in the countryside and other hospitals in Lampang centre can be recommended.

Good luck with your quest.

Might be better if your wife posted in a Thai language site with other Thai ladies. Likely to get better results, if she is up to it.

said they are both farangs earlier

You can try and contact the 2 below:

2 Bedroom House for rent in Don Kaeo, Chiang Mai 📌 House for rent in Chiang Mai | Thailand-Property

Unfurnished house for rent at HangDong 📌 House for rent in Chiang Mai | Thailand-Property

I know it stands min 1 year on one and long term on the other, but you can always try and negotiate.

I stayed at Lanna Boutique and if you mention my name, the most you would have to pay is B500 a day. If you would like to bargain with him for staying a couple of months, you could likely get cheaper. He has a fantastic swimming pool.

Please read again the OP.

15,000 baht a month might be peanuts to you but it is a fortune to some ( me included)

I'm guessing 5000 and under.

Sorry to disappoint you but if you read the OP's reply to your post i would suggest he is being a tad sarky.

I hope your wife make a full and quick recovery. I lost my wife a few years back from cancer so I know just how bad it is and how hard on families.

All the best to the both of you for the future.
