Netizens have called on Patong Police Station officers and Phuket administrative officials to intensify their efforts in safeguarding the province’s reputation, following yet another physical altercation on Soi Bangla. Reports indicate that the incident involved Thai women and Kuwaiti tourists.

The news Facebook page, โหดจัง จังหวัดภูเก็ต (translated as “So Brutal, Phuket Province”), shared a video today, August 21, showing Thai women and foreign tourists, later identified as Kuwaiti, engaged in a physical altercation. The page also criticised the work of Patong Police Station officers and the superintendent.

“You all make a living on Soi Bangla, Patong, and Phuket, but never protect its image. You always damage the reputation of this tourist destination. So brutal. Fighting each other over a man.

“Patong Police Station officers and the superintendent, please be more active. Stop boasting about your football skills. Have as much passion for your work as you do for football. Locals know that drugs and illegal items are everywhere in the area you supervise, but you don’t. It’s so embarrassing. Please work as hard as the Commissioner of Police Region 8 trusts you to. Do more, speak less.”

In the video, a Thai woman in a long black dress can be seen arguing with a group of foreign tourists, consisting of three men and one woman, on Bangla Road. Another Thai woman in a white dress joined the argument before the first one in black threw her shoe at a Kuwaiti man in a black shirt.

Police criticised

The foreign man attempted to kick her in the head but she managed to avoid it. The group of foreigners then tried to leave the scene but the Thai women followed and attacked them in the middle of the road.

A Thai man in a blue shirt suddenly appears, brandishing a knife. He attempted to slash one of the foreign men but missed and then left the scene.

Many Thai netizens condemned the police for their inaction, stating that altercations occur almost every day at the same time, between 4am and 6am, but no police officers are ever present. Others focused on the man in the blue shirt, saying he should not be carrying a knife in public.

According to a report on Amarin TV, the incident did not involve Thai women on Soi Bangla, but rather four Kuwaiti nationals and three Thai women. The altercation began inside an entertainment venue when a Thai woman poured alcohol over the Kuwaiti woman.

The media reported that the police intervened and escorted both parties to the police station for questioning and further legal proceedings.

However, the police have not yet come forward to clarify the incident and the legal punishment for those involved.

The woman recording the video sounds like she's either orgasming  or having a stroke.

  • Immediately arrest the <deleted> with the knife and make an example of him. Lock him up in a cell with some gays

What is up with all the Kuwaiti tourist stories of late? Racing motobikes, fighting locals etc. Maybe the RTP Immigration Bureau could limit the Kuwaiti visas to 72 hours with 24 hour hold over for proper clearance.

“Knife guy” needs to be identified and prosecuted. It should be easy enough to find him from the video evidence.
The gutless little tosser will, no doubt, be hiding under a rock somewhere but police need to make an example of him

I do not see a single policeman in the video. So when did they intervene and escort both parties to the station? What about the man with the knife? The police need to find him more than dealing with the drunk women. Arrest him for attempted murder using a weapon. He should be their focus now. Any man willing to pull a knife in public to go after foreigners who are defending themselves from locals needs to be locked up.

There seems to be a lot of hate generated by recent news against kuwaitis. As the story reports the Thai woman initiated this conflict by pouring their drinks on the Kuwaiti women.

let them all go at it hell-for-leather ,   that'll get rid of 7 undesirables  :giggle:

A whole lot of nothing. Seemed the gaggle of Thai girls wouldn't let it go and a few Katoeys in their for good measure to mix it up. And jesus that's a knife! Get him off the streets, he's a liability  the little urchin.

Not lately they've been racing bikes and being a pain in the **** for years

I heard years ago that the level of abuse aimed at Thai women from the Middle East was appalling ( via dating sites ). What's happening now is vile, horrific. It's beyond misogyny, it's extreme and degrading racism.

When Thai netizens discover what's going on the backlash will be severe.

So it involved women who were not women - or were women - or men - or inbetweens (katoeys) ?

The "Kuwaiti" woman (in the short leopard print dress) in the clip did not really look all that Kuwaiti to me. :whistling:
(Keeping in mind that Kuwait is a fundamentalist country much like Iran and Saudi Arabia. Alcohol is illegal for followers of the religion of peace. Foreigners have to get a license to drink. Full Muslim dress for women is common - but not mandatory - though they are expected to cover most of their bodies so no short, tight mini-skirts.)

Well, that has clarified everything! When is a Thai woman not a Thai woman? When is a Kuwaiti woman a not a man?
