Cheap Charlies blocked my review
of course they do... I dom't go into bars but in restaurants, all the time. If they are employed as waitstaff, they aren't poor. They may be on minimum wage and like many, they may have difficulties managing a budget, but no, they are not poor. -

Next US President Will Wear The Grandaddy of Hoover Curses
What possible nexus does your robotic anti-Trump response have to do with the theme of this posting except to continue with the "orange man bad" mantra? Why are you here? Please say something that address the theme of this post or just go back to Redditt. -

world wide income taxation update
Those problems to which I was referring dealt with ENGLISH language official documens which should not be needed in translation as ENGLISH is the official international language of Thailand. I have noted in my 20+ years of retirement in dealing with the immigration or other government offices, my official US government documents never needed to be translated into Thai and were accepted for whatever was needed. As for the financial problems, on those if you have seen any of my notes on this forum, I tell it like it is - I am old and totally ignorant of financial activities - fortunately my pension is a govt pension and I have no other income so the DTA of the US and Thailand also is pretty cleart to me - the information about my finances and taxation in Thailand came to me via folks on this forum - I learned where I could find that info and did so and then I relaxed as I noted how simple my finances and taxation here are especially compared to others here. I do wish all the expats end up not having too many problems but I also realize that many will have complicated finance activities which the locals probably will not understand. Hope they do like the PI and ignore pensions of all types. -

Latest carmaker to scale back its EV ambitions amid slowing sales
We got off the track. By unwise consumerism I was referring to your comment that I should have no opinion on an ev since I didn't own one. I have already replied to that. My methodology is not buying things before I judge their worth to me. Therefore I must have a good opinion BEFORE I buy. Second I'm not very concerned about ev sales in Thailand. It's just statistical noise compared to larger markets. Besides that it is my observation that Thai nationals are not very savvy consumers so what they choose to buy is irrelevant to me. So enjoy your ev but allow me my opinion as I do yours. Me thinketh you protestith too much. -

Hello Swedes. Those folks know a good thing when they see it. You were stupid to let them in to take over your cities...and now, guess what, they will not leave. -

Ten Common Mistakes to Avoid When Buying Health Insurance
Ten Common Mistakes to Avoid When Buying Health Insurance Understanding health insurance can be complex, but avoiding these common mistakes will help ensure you get the best coverage for your needs. 1. Insufficient Research Thoroughly research coverage details, costs, customer reviews, and the claim process to find a suitable plan and avoid surprises. 2. Choosing Inadequate Coverage Select a policy that includes essential services like hospitalization, outpatient care, maternity services, and critical illness protection to avoid financial strain. 3. Withholding Medical History Be honest about your medical history to ensure accurate coverage and avoid claim denials. 4. Relying Solely on Employer Insurance Consider getting a private insurance plan in addition to your employer's plan for comprehensive coverage, as employer plans may not fully cover your needs. 5. Overlooking Policy Fine Print Carefully review the fine print for details on policy limits, waiting periods, copayments, and exclusions to avoid unexpected costs. 6. Misunderstanding the Co-Pay Clause Understand the co-pay percentage to manage your out-of-pocket expenses effectively. 7. Buying Insurance for Tax Benefits Prioritize plans offering comprehensive coverage over those primarily designed for tax savings 8. Delaying Insurance Purchase Buy insurance at a younger age to enjoy lower premiums and continuous coverage. 9. Ignoring Sub-Limits Check sub-limits on specific parts of your coverage to avoid higher out-of-pocket expenses. 10. Overlooking Add-Ons Consider add-ons or riders that enhance your basic coverage based on your needs and budget. Special Offer for Asean Now Readers Get an exclusive 10% discount on health insurance. Fish pond filter
The filter media are these foam cartridges. They work quite well - and there is certainly a lot of grunge in them when I clean them. This unit keeps my water quite clear - my only ongoing battle is keeping the green algae growth down. I acknowledge that this filter is not great, but it does the job - and does not require a lot of maintenance. Obviously other factors like the volume of the pond and the biological load (fish number and size) needs to be taken into consideration when selecting filtration methods - but I am attempting to keep my response relatively simple. My 1000l tank in my house has a full biological filter system with undertank sump and automated water change every day - the water is crystal clear - but filtration like this is not necessary for a pond (IMO). -
