Where Can I Sell My Rolex in Bangkok?

In '80s I had two-tone White face SS & gold Rolex Daytona. Paid $ 6400 for it. Used 4 years. Sold for $ 9200. To me best looking watch. Paul Newman got one after winning Daytona 24h race and then started to advertice it for Rolex.

Great value and investement! However, never liked how heavy and thick it was...

That facebook link to store shows one like mine. Price 689 000THB / 20 542 USD.

I try the first serious answer.

Go to jewelry shops in the city center.

Or maybe visit Chinatown with all the gold shops.

Probably they won't buy it, but I am pretty sure they can tell you about places and/or people who might be interested.

I think I read somewhere that currently you can get a lot of money for these watches.

Put it up on Facebook

Agree, I sold my Omega De Ville through Facebook and it all went smoothly, although prior to selling it, a Russian guy was interested and asked to meet me to see it! I did meet him and showed him the watch and he wanted to take it away to show "a friend" to ensure it was genuine...........I didn't come down in the last shower, so refused to let him take it.

There are a few shops in the indoor malls around Chatuchak that deal in higher end used watches.  There's always a few serious looking buyers going through their goodies when I pass by.  I don't know what their process is (purchase and resale, consignment, etc), but they must get them from someone.  I'd start at the red building right outside the Kampheng Phet (sp?) MRT station.  It's an amazing collection of antiques, collectibles and artwork.

The old JJ Mall and MixT are pretty impressive, too. (Though I don't remember specifically watch shops, because I'm not in the market).  Either one is well worth a visit, especially if you haven't been there since Covid.

I think the one you’re talking about is called Bangsue Junction( not the train station) or something similar. I should know because I park there when I go to the plant market midweek. There are a few dealers there but I’ve never seen them open, presumably only weekends. JJ Mall and Mixt don’t have any dealers AFAIK.

You could also sell on line through www.chrono24.com , very reputable and secure site , but quite high selling fees , circa 6%

I’d say 6% is pretty good

Hello,
I have a Rolex watch that I’m considering selling and I’m looking for reliable shops or dealers in Bangkok who purchase Rolex watches. Can anyone suggest some reputable places or share their experiences with selling Rolex watches in the area?
Thank you for your help!

Sell in Europe, there’s a waiting list in most licensed Rolex jewelers. Very sought after , but you need all the certificate of course.

There is a place on the upper floors of Central World, opposite Big C  SuperCenter (maybe 4th,5th or 6th floor that sells used watches. Can't remember the name.

Also I have seen second hand watch sellers (Rolex, Patek etc) in MBK. Don't know how reliable though.

That place in Centralworld was an OMEGA watch specialist. Back then the shopping mall was known as the World Trade Center.

He bought my old Omega "moonwatch"...

I don't know if he's still there.

These days I never the go past the 3rd floor.

I sold mine a couple of years ago.

Went ti resellers here - they offered ridiculously low prices which left me giving up on trying ti sell in Thailand’s

Put it on eBay - nothing but scam attempts.

I ended up selling it in the Uk on Watchfinder  (similar to Chrono24).

They gave me a price range I was comfortable with.

i send the watch the them, on evaluation they hit the ‘mid point’ of the price range & I was satisfied with the sale. (Explorer II).

There are some Rolex watch groups on Facebook - plenty of ppl selling, but obviously you need to be careful weeding out the scammers - only ever sell privately in person.

Yes he seems to have been serious about that, as he has not been heard from since. I'm sure a lot of guys on this forum are going to miss him, as he was such a source of knowledge and inspiration.

Who is this nice15 who registered here on Monday, the day Bob left?
