In a shocking incident in Udon Thani, a husband violently attacked his wife after a digital funds transfer of 10,000 baht failed to appear in their bank account.

On September 30, 2024, at around 11:20 a.m., police received a report about a domestic violence case in a house located in Ban Nong Lee Hu, Moo 11, Tambon Samphao. The responding officer, Lieutenant Somprasong Phollap, led a team to investigate the situation.

At the scene, they found 46-year-old Ms. Thaveeporn (last name withheld) waiting for assistance. She had a severe head injury with blood on her forehead and apron.

Ms. Thaveeporn explained that her husband, Mr. Tum, 43, from Buriram, had attacked her with a padlock, striking her multiple times until she bled. Fearing for her safety, she fled the house to seek help from her sister, who recorded the incident on video.

According to Ms. Thaveeporn, she had taken her husband's bank book to check if the 10,000 baht had been deposited but found no funds. After returning home and informing Mr. Tum that the money would be available on October 20, he became irate.

To calm him, she brought him a small bottle of liquor. However, after consuming it, Mr. Tum demanded more money for more alcohol and began destroying furniture.

During the confrontation, Ms. Thaveeporn attempted to defend herself with a knife, but Mr. Tum continued to assault her, using his fists and finally the padlock, causing serious injuries.

Her sister, Ms. Oi, 51, described the distressing moment when her sister sought help. She noted that such arguments were frequent between the couple, but never had they escalated to such violence.

Emergency responders provided first aid before transporting Ms. Thaveeporn to Udon Thani Hospital for stitches. She was advised to report the incident to the police if she wished to press charges against her husband.

Poor woman, trying to calm this nutter down with alcohol is the worst thing she could have done, it just made him worse.

Getting far away from him would have been safer.

It might have worked. Should have poured it over his head and lit a match. ' Come near me again and see what happens ! '

This Government must be so proud of themselves. It was obvious to most what cash would be spent on, drugs, alcohol, and gambling, none of which will stimulate the economy. Even the Alcohol is probably jungle hootch, and gambling will get more into debt, if any thing it is costing the economy, with all the hospital treatments, and deaths, caused by it. Mucking Fental Idea from day one.

Along with the guy that fell into the canal the other day, we can pretty much see what all these THB10,000s is going to be spent on.

Ah well. It's not as if we didn't see it coming.

Oh Yes! You can just imagine our knowledge of the situation. My wife runs a rather big sized corner shop, and we see were the money goes on a daily basis. Since the first day they started the payouts, we have seen an increase in alcohol sales of nearly 60%. That´s telling exactly how much people really needed this money, when they just can waste it on alcohol.

The whole community is built on money money and money.... Nothing is more important.. and for the 10k handout is already proven that it is a disaster.. people buy alcohol, spend it on wrong things and are even assaulted for it..  It would be better as I wrote many times get them 20 vouchers of 500 THB  printed with the id card of the owner able to spend all over Thailand, but not for alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and lottery.. The first handout is made but I am wondering how many lottery tickets are bought now for today....

The handout is already a disaster and the economy  will get no benefit of it at all

Agree 100%. Alternatively as I posted yesterday, use the 50/50 app, but reprogram to 0/100 as that one already have the limitations. But, they are nutcases, and will always be.

Time to invite him to relocate far away.

No it's not.

So where are your links and proof?

Have you been to all the small villages and Thai moo bans in rural Thailand?

Of course it happens in some places, in just the same way that it happens in other countries as well.

Good for you.

You might be able to retire one day.

I am sure most of the money will not be spent on alcohol. But it makes for a good rant.

Links, proof?? how about living in rural thailand for over 15 years ( several locations ), good enough?

Are you a policeman?

How about living in rural Thailand for over 20 years in Kamphaeng Phet province in a small Thai Moo Ban.

Not a policeman but you are claiming without backing up. How many Thai people do you you actually know of who are nothing but savages?  There are stories all the time like this but nobody actually claims to know that it happened to somebody they know.

IF it happened it was always to somebody else's wife, mother, cousin of a friend etc. That is the trouble with a story, which is all a story is.

Hence my question for links and proof. Anyone can repeat a story, but very few people know it first hand,

I am also sure most of the money will not be spent on alcohol, but too much is. Many shops around us also see the same. It was no rant, it what we now can see on a daily basis. When alcohol sales goes up with 60%, that is a big sign. These people are unfortunately both disabled and very poor as that was the first ones who got the handout., and the reason for it was for them to get a better life. Out of what I see, the receivers do not care much about that.

Just as a side note: What has my retirement to do with it? Isn´t it time that you stop with your childish games and grow up?

If you've live in KP for 20 years, you should know full well so many incidents of domestic / sexual abuse are not reported.

Links of proof - wise up.

Having the government give away money only makes society dependent on it and not take responsibility for their own welfare. Such is the case of the Democrats in the U.S. with their socialist, globalist polices making the U.S. less competitive to other countries.

What has the Democrats in the USA got to do with the topic at hand?

He should blame the PM instead, what can his wife do about the situation?

Kamala derangement syndrome.

I'd just like to point out that you assumed I was exaggerating my comment that Thai's will get on the Lao Khao and get drunk then kill each other.

It just goes to show how little you really know about the real thai people, the real lunatics in every village, this week alone we have had several stories of bashings, killings, arguments, murder ... all after the 10,000 baht cash hand out.

you need to get out more and see the real Thai, not just in Central shopping centre.
