Why not crack down on police corruption, which facilitates both foreign and Thai criminal behavior?

His b/s utterings would go someway to explaining why they normally form committees before making such statements, the thinking being presumably that no loss of face would be attributed to one individual, rather it would be shared by the anonymous committee members,  loss of face shared being loss of face halved as it were  

     Nailing a few errant foreigners is one thing and should not be too difficult but " building a new generation of police who serve the community with honesty and dedication."   and protecting Thais from cyber crime is a whole different ball game,   I hope he lets everybody know how it works out  by the end of "the fiscal year" which strikes me as a strange target for a law enforcement organization, but then again considering where we are, maybe it isn't so strange after all

He is hardly likely to crackdown on that is he ,  nobody with any sense would shoot themselves in the foot  deliberately. How do you think he got to be the chief of police in the first place ?   by being a really good cop ?

Strategy, which spells out what you want to achieve, must always be accompanied by tactics, the way in which you will achieve what you want, and operations, the things you actually do to achieve it.

 

The strategy is clear, the tactics are a little shaky, but what always fails here are the operations. A few short term actions will do little to achieve the long term aims, so this just looks like grandstanding or paying lip service.

 

Without the will to actually start and carry on doing things, this strategy like so many previous ones will just wither and die.

Many years ago an old Irish friend told how he was walking down Sukhumvit Soi 5 one day and a big african guy walked up to him and said "Hello darling"! Soooo funny!!😆

The hub of crackdowns. Always lots of bluster, but few lasting results. It's difficult to crackdown on criminals when those responsible for doing the cracking down are also criminals.

Surely a good example to foreign criminal's and foreign governments' would be, or should be the bringing the Red Bull fugitive to book? Start with spring cleaning your home grown miscreants before the dreaded foreign criminal's

The main law enforcement problem in Thailand is clearly foreigners violating laws. Deaths and scams caused by locals on roads and in the society in general is a minor issue compared to problems caused by foreigners

Have the RTP finished the Crack Down they were doing on corrupt RTP personnel? I haven’t heard about the outcome of that Crackdown. I hear brown envelopes are still outselling the number of arriving tourists into Thailand so the Crackdown must still be ongoing.

Being reading Thai news for many years, I must say I get the feeling that there are many more criminals entering the country now-a-days. I guess Chinese seems to be on top. I just cannot understand that people will commit any crimes here as the jails are so intimidating and bad! I remember some Thais tell me that in jails, the "cooks" use their feet to make the food! 😆 If you have money you can order from "outside"! Also, there are many people in one cell! All this makes me think it is the dumbest of criminals that come and commit crime here!! It just has to be!!🤣
