A crash occurred when a black Toyota Fortuner lost control on a curve along the Udon Ratthaya Expressway, with the driver being ejected from the vehicle and falling approximately three metres to his death. Police said that CCTV footage captured the incident, providing insight into the events leading to the fatal outcome.

At approximately 23:15 on November 9, Pak Kret Police Station in Nonthaburi, along with the Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescue team, responded to a reported vehicle crash. The incident took place on a curved section of the expressway near the exit onto Chaeng Watthana Road in Khlong Kluea, Pak Kret District. Authorities were joined by a forensic medical examiner to investigate the scene.

Upon arrival, responders found the body of Mr. Natthaphon, 46, lying on the ground below the expressway. His vehicle, a black Toyota Fortuner with license plate from Bangkok, was discovered tilted on its side, with the right wheels resting on the guardrail along the expressway curve. Scrapes and black marks were visible on the guardrail where the vehicle had impacted it.

According to police the CCTV footage, shows the Fortuner approached the curve at high speed from the Bang Pa-In direction. As it rounded the turn, the vehicle lost control and collided with the guardrail, causing the right side to mount the barrier.

At the scene police examined the vehicle and found that the driver’s door window was open. It is suspected that Mr. Natthaphon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, and the impact caused him to be ejected from the vehicle, resulting in a fall to the road below from a height of about three metres.

Police officers documented the scene and preserved evidence from the CCTV footage, which confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. The crash was determined to be a case of losing control on the curve, with no signs of external interference.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the Poh Teck Tung Foundation for transfer to the Institute of Forensic Science for further examination.

Yep, another one ejected and bites the dust (in this case gravel), just because it lame and under their dignity to wear a seatbelt. How many more have to die, before people understand that it´s trendy and tough to wear a seatbelt.

No, the driver lost control because he was taking the bend too fast.

I have no issue with idiots ending their lives, the roads will be safer without them, as long as they don't take others with them.

And I wonder about similar driving accident on the developing Rama 2 elevated highway that at several areas appear 100 meters above the ground. If the whole vehicle ejects over the side, seat belts and air bags will be meaningless. You might think surely the highway side barriers will contain a vehicle from going over. But a vehicle might be ejected over the barrier resulting from a clash with one or more vehicles (especially 16 wheelers)?

The guard rail did its job.  Driver would have likely survived had he been wearing a seatbelt.
