I just came back from the parole office I have to report to for the crime I committed.

Well thanks for that feedback. But I got a different answer from someone on retirement extension who also returned home after a short trip to a nearby country....  oh well!

And how long ago is it now  since the rumour that 90 day address reports would no longer be needed?

The only point of the 90 day reports is that they are a pointless irritation for expats and they give immigration pointless busy work...

They know full well the pointlessness of the whole endeavor...

So the only conclusion to draw is they quite like irritating expats.....So no reason to ever get rid of the 90 day reports...

And this same thinking fits nicely to explain the stupid no selling of alcohol in the afternoon....Another pointless endeavor....

I never heard that! How STUPID is this...

I don't drink but to have such a silly rule in "World class destination!"

The specific regulation that bans the sale of alcohol in Thailand from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM is formally known as the "Afternoon Alcohol Sale Ban." This ban restricts the sale of alcoholic beverages in various settings during this three-hour window."

Thank you.  Another poster said he was able to do his on-line so perhaps depends on the Immigration office.

The other poster has since said it was over a year ago.  The "rule" changed late last year or early this year so he may well have just got in before the change.

I dont have a printer..

And?  I never use one applying for the 90 day report online because using a laptop and a browser is much easier than using a printer to connect to the web.

I think the other poster was me, and it was not over a year ago.

I returned on August 30 2023, and did my online report on November 16.
On September 2 I had received an email reminder because if I hadn't travelled outside the country, my report would have been due September 17, but I just ignored that email.

What?

One is supposed to print out the approved slip and keep a copy in ones passport.

Keep the mail on your phone. Who you you give the hardcopy to?

I've never been asked for it.

That is over a year ago!

Just looked at my previous reports and I successfully reported in December 2023 after being out of the country, but couldn't in June 2024.  As I said, the rule changed late last year or early this year and you appear to have got in just before the change.

It's there in my passport, may be of use if at immigration for a COR/ Extension renewal/ Reentry Permit. You never need, it until you need it. I guess it is stored in my emails, so accessible from my phone too.

do it online. Save the acceptance on a memory stick and pop into the print shop near you.

What a load of bureaucratic nonsense!

No such reporting here in Cambodia.

Yes indeed - your choice.

My choice was to leave Thailand, almost 5 years ago, for a hassle free life with no visa bureaucracies.

That's why I still have 5 yr old TM6 on my passport too.

So you'd rather stand in line for hours every time because you're too cheap to buy a printer for 1500 THB!?:post-4641-1156694572:

Or 50Baht to get it printed, not that you normally even need it!

I have never been asked or it since online was introduced!

You gotta point there.

I printed the approval screen since they didn't send a email now with the new system.

Yeah, I got one too. It's getting a bit tatty and I have to look at it to remember when I last entered Thailand, for 90 day reports!
