A foreign tourist caused a scene of panic in a Pattaya condominium early morning on December 21, when he wandered the building half naked, brandishing a knife and knocking on doors.

The incident occurred at approximately 01:05 at a condominium on Jomtien Second Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District. Police were alerted to the disturbance and immediately dispatched a patrol team to investigate.

Upon arrival, officers found residents in a state of shock, with security personnel detaining the intoxicated foreign man. The man, who was not immediately identified or nationality disclosed, was wearing only a black T-shirt and was naked from the waist down. Nearby, officers recovered a 15-centimetre kitchen knife, which the man had been wielding as he moved erratically through the building.

Residents recounted their fear as the man walked through the halls, knocking on doors while holding the weapon. One resident described looking through their peephole to find a large, half naked man with a knife. The shocking image sent a wave of terror through the building, prompting residents to contact security, who then called the police.

Initially, police attempted to escort the man back to his room. However, concerned for their safety and the man’s erratic behaviour, residents refused to let him go. Fearing a potential escalation and the risk of harm, they requested the authorities detain him to prevent further disturbance.

In response to these concerns, police took the man into custody and transported him to Pattaya Police Station to calm down and assess the situation further. Authorities are investigating the incident, which has raised concerns about safety in the area and the potential risks posed by intoxicated tourists.

"Initially, police attempted to escort the man back to his room." Half naked and with a knife, is this not enough to warrent being held in jail to see if he is more of a threat?

  • Why? You can't see his didgeridoo!

Well, it's about bloody time..... It's been 2 or 3 days since I read about a Drunken Foreigner Causing Panic in Pattaya, who was Wandering around Naked & Armed with a Knife.

Sadly we still have many more weeks of high season

My mate told me he saw it happen and he was armed with a whisk not a knife.😀

It’s nice that most of the psychopaths congregate in pattaya, all will be fine as long as they keep going there and not here.

As opposed to intoxicated Thai's? Not sure which one I fear more, but there are a lot more intoxicated Thai's here than tourists.

Good old boy Mac the Knife I presume?

Yet, somehow they know that he's a tourist?
I guess I'm a bit behind the times of Airbnbs Vrbos and all that sort of thing, but whenever I've been a tourist, I stayed in hotels. I wonder how they determined that he was a tourist. Personally, I usually assume that people who have a room in a condo are longer term sorts. I guess maybe that wouldn't be the case in places like Pattaya so packed full of tourists...? Anyway, still strange how they somehow know he's a tourist without even knowing his nationality.

No.  It's obviously a case of ingesting too much Durian.  555

Running around naked at 1 am in the morning, knocking on people's doors and causing havok while wielding a knife is criminal behavior and, in my opinion, no joke. No one should be exposed to this behaviour, especially children and the elderly.   This self-entitled garbage Individual should be fined,  jailed and deported. There is no place  for these types of tourists.

There are a lot more intoxicated Thais at my nearest 7-Eleven than intoxicated tourists in Pattaya.  My Thai wife laughs at intoxicated foreigners but she cringes in fear when confronted with an intoxicated Thai.

They have literally invited anyone who can afford a ticket to come to Thailand, in an utter desperation to increase the arrival numbers. There are no qualifications, the income requirements are low, and the quality of tourists that are being attracted here are increasingly lower.

They just simply have to assume that they will get a percentage of nutters, super freaks, the bizarre, and those that just don't conform to any sort of societal norms.

nice police, to bring him back to his room initially instead of arresting him, pffff, (paper)work

His Thai girlfriend realises what a loser he his so kicks him out!

So, he was whisked away

Deportation is best in this case, walking around with a knife, half naked and without a doubt completely wasted. No time for people like this being here.

The cops wanted to simply return him to his room? How fkg lazy can you get with these guys. Really unbelievable.

Take him to the police station. Book him. Black list him. Get him out of Thailand! Geeeeez.

... Not.... Take him back to his room and allow him to watch The Shining or whatever
