I just watched "Hyena" (2014) a British police corruption movie, low budget but quite good, stars Stephen Graham.

Never watched the acclaimed 2007 TV series, (8.7 IMDB) "Mad Men" before, so thought I'd give it a go. Got as far as episode 3, series 1 before wondering if I wanted to persevere with the full seven series. It has it's moments but it's starting to come across as a bit of a soapie.

Persevere. It's one of the best series ever series, along with 'Better Call Saul', 'The Sopranos' and "Six Feet Under'.

      Persevere.   I watched it when it first came out but missed some of the episodes.  I am re-watching it and enjoying it immensely.  Variety named it the second best series of all time--and I agree.

G20. This got a lot of bad reviews and it's true that it's just a remake of Die Hard at a G20 meeting and with  Viola Davis playing the Bruce Willis part. This ended up being another in the continuing series of middle-aged women playing action heros if you consider 60 middle-aged.

 

Still, for all of that, she is a great actor, the movies was well made, and even if the action scenes with 60-year-old Davis overcoming special forces mercenaries in hand-to-hand combat strained believability, I thought it was all in all a good action flick and she's a great actor so she was fun to watch.

How can you judge something you haven't watched?  Did you enjoy the first two seasons?

Won't be everyone's cup of tea, but for any dads out there this is a very moving and sometimes difficult watch.  Superb performances from the two leads and amazing use of music.

I struggled through S1, thinking 'What is this I am forcing myself to watch'. Went straight to S3 hoping it would be better. For me, it wasn't.

I judge a series by it's first episode, which if I deem it to be rubbish, then I am not going to watch a further 7 episodes to see if it gets any better.

'The Narrow Road to the Deep North' is getting rave revues yet I can only find E1 (of 5?) on TPB.  (And only 1 seeder!)

That is not the original TG site, some of those movies/TV aren't even released for download yet. There is also no torrents for books and music that the original had. Pity it's gone as it was the best IMO.  I am now using both Pirate and 1337X as torrent sources.
