What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)

Featured Replies

Just finished Paradise season one, and even it was OK, it annoyed me it was a bit predictable.

Anyway managed to get through 8 episodes in three days.

Need something new from Netflix or Disney. Last thing I really enjoyed must been Peaky Blinder, and that's quite awhile ago

Looks tricky to setup. I haven't hasd much luck with github content.

And I use a Mac.

It's not an issue to install and setup at all .. it's better suited to some kind of computer / server that you are running 24-7 with all your stored video files, coupled with a media player like plex / jellyfish / emby.

But there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube, there is no issue with GitHub software, its just a repo.

If you want to use usenet the *rr suite is ideal - you can use nzbget as your client - you will need an indexer, (which is like a torrent site, but for usenet)  I have a drunken slug account, but never used it.

Don't they get the " stuff "  from USENET in the first place ?

Its a symbiotic affair - scene, group, whatever - usenet and torrent sites all contribute - the usenet will snatch uploads from torrent release groups within minutes, torrent indexers will auto upload scene and usenet uploads within minutes.

For anyone who is interested - A new 24 hour in Police Custody airs on Sunday night.

I don't seem to have much time at the moment, but I watched Squid Games S02, the S03 series appears next Saturday night and Nine Perfect Strangers S01, just a bit of a departure from the normal viewing,

Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol and Fallout, Sicario- Day of the Soldado, Mother (Korean), The Lightship.

Ironheart from Disney, teen black girl returns from Wakanda to invent an Iron Man style robot suit.

Complete Inspector Morse available (30GB)

Murder in a Small Ton complete season available ........ might be OK, set in a small US coastal tourist town.

I watched it when it first arrived a few months back, its average OK, popped up again this week and I mistakenly downloaded it again only to find I have seen it, shan't be watching it again though.....

For anybody who has Disney Plus, do you know if it has live sport, cricket?

I know it does in Australia, but it's hard to get the channel line up for Thailand.

ChatGPT says no, but Disney+ India does

I tried the first 2 episodes---just got the feeling it might be more suitable for someone about 70 years younger then me--------:ermm:

They are re-running a lot of old stuff at the moment--- some of them you wonder why they caned --- New Amsterdam, not the hospital one--before it.

A Dutch soldier in the 1600s saves the life of a native woman and is granted the power of eternal youth in return.

In the 2000s he is a police detective in New York City, and after 400 years he knows just about everything, going on-- There are some humorous parts in it,

He is investigating a murder and interviewing, a rich old lady witness -- who keeps looking at him , as she feels she knows him, of course he was knocking off half a century ago.

When they do put a bullet in his head, he just always wakes up in water (usually east side river) with no clothes etc .... not a good look for a NY detective.

It was getting IMDB  7.5---to 8 each episode---- after one season they canned it and put that stupid hospital with the same name on.

I kept looking for it thinking surly there be another season sometime.---but no

I don't know why they are re-running it --someone told me  you can look at the whole season on Utube

Out this week.

A troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator follow in the footsteps of two serial arsonists.

Dropping now.

An OP recommended Scene Release as a source for movies & TV. It is a complete PITA unless you have a lot of time and patience on your hands. And movies nobody wants to see: Jaws 2, really?

I rely on the free NYT weekly movies update. Not all the ones you want to see will be available yet but Nicolas Cage's The Surfer is.

I am totally flabbergasted that no one here has mentioned The Handmaid's Tale, probably the most important political prophecy of our time. Read the book, too!

I loved Squid Games S01 but S02 was a repetitious stinker. Can't believe they're bothering to do S03.

Nine Peffect Strangers, on. the other hand, is my kind of quirky TV. No spoliers here. Watch it!

I'm sloshing through the entire EZTV list. Into the Bs, not much to watch.

Dead to Me is awesome & quirky.

Gone Girl.

Slightly off-topic but this reminds me of an excellent book I once read. It was adapted for British TV in 1965 but, as yet, I can't find it.

Watched the first two eps released this week, seven more to go, weekly I guess.

Pretty good, 7.5/10 based on the two eps.

Best line so far...

"This isn't my first bunker, Archie."

Written/created by Dennis Lehane.

I actually liked Endeavour more.

Lewis comes in third.

I struggled through the first last night, time will tell.

I searched Dennis Lehane, and a few reactions to yesterdays premiere didn't read so well.

I gave it away after  ten minutes, just another cookie cutter TV show.

As somebody mentioned "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" earlier on, I decided to download the original TV series, because from what I could remember (not much really) it got rave reviews and I think I liked it back then??

However after watching the first three episodes, I found it boring/tedious and at times confusing, so am in the process of downloading the movie and I will watch that tonight instead!

I also downloaded the movie, "The Charge of the Light Brigade" the other day and quite enjoyed it, and the movie showed some of the upper-class twits who were promoted way beyond their mental/thinking capacity, but such was often the way in days gone by, and the movie was at pains to show this.

They also did "Smiley's People", back in the day (1982).

Too bad they never did "The Honourable Schoolboy" - supposedly written at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok - to round out the Karla Trilogy". Too many locations I'd imagine, including Thailand.

I liked the shows but the 2011 film was superlative. I've rewatched that ~ 2times. The cast is simply amazing.
