I need subtitles on all movies now 🙁

Tried ear phones and ear buds but they all seem to simply increase the sound without cleaning up the speech, also they cut out the sound so wife doesn't get anything at all.

So we learn to live with it as we get older....

Ditto.  Me too.  Without subs I end up missing dialogue.

  • Mr Inbetween   https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7472896/   One of the best series I have watched in quite some time, an easy 8/10 for me.

  • When you get very old you can re-watch stuff from a month ago and have no idea that you have seen it before.

  • Wednesday......... is back, if you (or your kids have any  interest )   4 episodes out now ---4 episodes out in September

It's not you, as I need subtitles when watching UK or AU movies or series.  Or I'll miss a lot.  Some, I can't even follow, as don't understand most of what they say, as accent is so hard.   So don't bother watching, as I'll miss most of it, while reading.

Try watching Snatch without subs.  You miss half of what is said.

It's probably me but many times I have a hard time understanding what is being said on UK series. Even if I replay that part again at high volume I still don't always know what is being said. I don't think it is because of slang that they are using. I am from the USA.

Yes, it is the accent/slang they are using. I cannot understand strong Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Geordie, Scouse, Cockney dialogue, and much less some American accents.

Re-watching The Sopranos before I leave for the states. Also Good Kill, Eye In The Sky, Remember, Traded, Blow and The Boys From Brazil.

Fackham Hall is an upcoming period comedy parody film directed by Jim O'Hanlon.

A lovable pick-pocket Eric Noone moves into the English manor house of Fackham Hall. He has a forbidden romance with Rose Davenport and is framed for a murder, while Archibald becomes Eric's rival and vies for Rose's hand in marriage. At the same time, rivalries are spilling over in the Davenport family, led by Lord and Lady Davenport, as they also weather the epic failure of the wedding of their eldest daughter to her caddish cousin.

I wholeheartedly agree with The Martian, excellent movie and incredible book as well.  The kind of movie I can  easily rewatch again and again.  And Wadi Rum in Jordan, where the Mars scenes were shot, is an otherworldly experience in person.

Agree with you on The Martian and tonight have just re-watched Prometheus and thoroughly enjoyed it.

PS. I also worked in a few places in the Sahara Desert and the varying landscape was breathtaking and I explored quite a bit of it, including The Calanscio Sand sea. A unique experience.

Agreed. I enjoyed watching The Hack.

Ballard of a small player

Amid the glittering casinos of Macau, a gambler running from his past — and his debts — becomes fascinated by an enigmatic woman at the baccarat table.

Very good movie with an interesting ending

Season 5 Slow Horses

Disappointed with this season, hopefully the writers and the actors can get back to form with a good storyline and better acting.

I still enjoyed it.
I didn't know Mick Jagger wrote the song specifically for the TV series.

Production completed but not released until beginning of December.

Bad Shabbos (2024 movie) the title a play on the greeting Good Shabbos offers a comedy that delivers a generous helping of well crafted situational and character based humor but for me personally no actual laughing. Does it have appeal beyond New Yorkers, Jews, and those in mixed Jewish-Christian marriages? I can't really say.

I watched the Bird Cage the other day.

Slow Horses season 5 complete pack now on LimeTorrents, TheRARBG & TorrentGalaxyClone and probably the other usual locations.

The Long Walk - A lot of dialogue as you can imagine, and a few gory shootings. Apart from that, not a lot happens really. 6/10
