Maybe because it's Sci-Fi and not everybody likes Sci-Fi.

Good, thank you.  You're quite right: since tastes vary widely, it's really handy if people would at the very least mention a genre;  that would reduce a lot of scrabbling around!

"Pluribus" presents a unique post-apocalyptic premise: the world has been taken over not by destruction, but by forced happiness. An extraterrestrial signal leads to a virus that infects most of humanity, fusing them into a peaceful, content, relentlessly optimistic collective consciousness known as "the Others." This "hive mind" has eliminated individuality and conflict, effectively turning the world into a utopia in which, and with which, its inhabitants are perfectly happy. —joan-lockwood

I watched Frankenstein (2025) yesterday and TBH I wasn't very impressed. Not many good movies these days IMHO, which is why I mostly watch TV series.
I much prefer the 1931 version with Colin Clive & Boris Karloff.

That will be worth a watch.  He brought back Better Call Saul's Rhea Seehorn.  This could be fun.

I'm currently doing a two season rewatch of Stargate Universe.  Good show.  I'll put Pluribus in the queue with Season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown and Welcome To Derry.

Stargate universe had so much potential. Need me some new Stargate though.

Another vote for this. Low budget but very good.

enjoyed Kin series 1, thanks for heads up on series 2

I finished series 2 last night. It really was as good as I hoped. If you haven't watched it, I thoroughly recommend it. For anyone else considering it you really do need to watch series 1 first.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there will be a series 3 as the production company went bust. Apparently, the main actors are all keen for a 3rd series so hopefully another company can pick it up and run with it. Fingers crossed.

Just about to start Tulsa King Season 3

Same here. I'm saving it for the weekend. I'll watch the whole series spread over two or three days. Really enjoyed the first two series after being reluctant initially due to 'Sly' being in the main role. Glad I gave it a try. Most enjoyable.

Using which app please.

No doubt both mentioned earlier in the year on this thread (but I'm a latecomer) but I'm currently watching:-

Kin - BBC iPlayer. Dublin based drug dealing crime family. Just started series 2 last night. I wasn't sure after episode 1 of Series 1 - almost gave up but very glad I stuck with it. Series 2 looks like it's going to be even better.

Tulsa King. Wasn't even going to consider it when I saw that Sly Stallone was in the leading role. So glad I did though! I think he is excellent in it with a good spectrum of supporting cast. Just finishing off Series 1 and will definitely watch 2 and 3. Watching it on Amazon Prime (free 30 day trial - signed up then immediately cancelled but you keep the free trial).

Both via Amazon Firestick. One thing I have noticed is that I have to turn my VPN OFF to watch Prime otherwise it says 'program currently unavailable'. Obviously have to have it ON for the BBC iPlayer.

@Will Iam Not If your question was regarding the post I have copied above, Kin is BBC iPlayer, Tulsa King Amazon Prime. Note my comment regarding VPN. Might not be the case for everyone.

What a wonderful way of putting it. 555

I find there is always something new here that i never rewatch content, however, my sister is visiting atm, i suggested starting Black Rabbit which she can finish on return to the UK. There is so many clips in scenes that are relevant in future episodes, it’s well worth rewatching.

saying that .. there is another series of ice cold murders: Rocco. . on more4 available on torrents.

im going to start the asset asap ..

I just noticed something I had my autoDL looking for - after 3 years of doing film festivals I’m looking forward to this https://detroittechnomovie.com god said give them drum machines - maybe not if anyone’s interest, idk, but it excites me.

Still waiting for this Netflix takeover love/hate ..

@recom273, thanks for the heads-up about Rocco Schiavone season 6. I've really enjoyed watching seasons 1-5 so far. Will watch on M4 after I finish The Asset.

Excellent mini-documentary on Sergio Leone's Westerns.

Now I'm on a Sergio Leone "Spaghetti Western" kick.  Watched the ones with Terrence Hill like "My Name Is Nobody."  They are pretty entertaining.  I had never heard of Terrence Hill before, but the Westerns with him starring are fun.
Watched "A Fistful Of Dollars," "...aim for the heart...always aim for the heart". All of these films have been remastered and the cinematography is fantastic. After watching this mini-documentary, I'm seeing these films with a new appreciation of the production, cinematography, and acting.  On to "For A Few Dollars More," and the classic, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."

Pluribus is a fun romp.  But then again, I really like "strange."

I actually find it pretty boring.  The Mayor Of Kingstown, Mobland, and Peeky Blinders are much much better.

Mayor of Kingstown seems to have degenerated into our hero cruising around in his car all day.

Tulsa King I gave up on as it no longer appears to have any plot.

Yeah I gave up after the first series.

I'm a big fan of Rocco as well.

Waiting for it to hit the torrent websites.

It's certainly more of the same. I almost skipped it but it was more entertaining that I had expected. All in all it's pretty mediocre, but considering what else is out there...

Just finished Dept Q. British police procedural based on Danish novel. It was a little rough at the beginning as the characters aren't particularly likeable but in the end it won me over, even if the plot is more than a little far fetched.

I downloaded the complete season from 133x but there were no subtitles included, so I had to download them from OpenSubtitles. org. and imbed them using Any Video Converter.

A couple of series that i posted about a few days ago and have now watched.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31289994/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

The Lowdown:

2025 series starring Ethan Hawke as a bookstore owner and part time investigative journalist. This dragged a little for me, 8 episodes was unnecessary imho.

Peter Dinklage ( that little guy from GOT ) appears halfway through to bring a little comedy to the series but only stays 1 episode and disappears as inexplicably as he arrives .

Overall storyline is good but dragged out a little too much and there is a complete lack of action which could have been incorporated imo.

Death by Lighting:

2025 mini series , absolutely loved this, a great historical true story ( which i didn’t know, Americans probably will ).

Some great acting by the two lead characters  in particular Matthew McFayden as Guiteau , Nick Offerman also great as the conniving Vice President.

An amazing story of Garfield’s rapid rise to Presidency and Guiteau’s unhinged mental state.
