But, but, but... American beef is the best in the world, oh humble one. No need for proof. Everything American is perfect and the rest of the world knows nothing.

To live in Thailand?   What do you mean by "live"?   Do you mean just to remain alive, or to actually LIVE in Thailand?   Most here, probably, are not living here.

Doubt it. I don't get pickpocketed, nor do I go with Vietnamese hookers.

NowNow, don't get mad. Remember, people do have opinions about certain foods, including beef and yes, pizza, and they might not correlate with your opinions. That doesn't mean you're right and they're wrong. American, Texas beef is on par with Japanese, Australian, Argentinian and other top beef. This isn't something up for opinions but has been proven time after time. The best? Who's to say? They're all right at the top, just like NYC and Italy pizza.

Well I know this is an Expat forum but most poster don't actually live in Thailand, I do not anymore, I moved back to OZ a few years back as everybody knows. so where you come from?  most posters seem American  posters posting like or dislike Trump but there is more countries in the world so the question is why posting about American problems in every second post?

I live permanently in a short time hotel in Pattaya, right next-door to a beer bar and a massage place. Two birds with one stone style living, innit.

Take some time and go back and look at all of the replies. Then go to another topic and you might see a history, yes. Then you'll also see who's calling names and who's pointing out the obvious, which are two separate things. Yes, you obviously aren't close to understanding the whole picture but join a forum a week ago and think you know all about certain people from a few replies. You have been doing this to a few others here already and one has put you on ignore today. Can you possibly see that maybe this is your problem and that your inability to comprehend what has happened in this history has you put the blame on me, calling me the name caller when it's he that has done this numerous times? Drop the apologies, false as they are, and take some time to rethink your sarcasm and use them with someone who isn't up on your kind. I don't blame anyone for what I say. I blame them for what they say. See the difference? You definitely won't see things as I do and sticking up for someone who acts like he does is all I need to understand your motives.

The person who claimed put me on ignore has not ever had a dialogue with me. I guess they did it because of my description of my experiences in the USA. Why else?

So you want me to go through your history to find the thread where you might have had a previous tête-à-tête with someone, to understand why you decided to abuse them some time afterwards?

Because obviously in the thread we are discussing, I didn't see them write anything bad at all, so I was shocked that you were just attacking them.

But it turns out that it's all their fault and not yours 🤭 They made you do it. Can we stop now if I say that I am totally convinced that you are the good, helpful, non-narcissistic one?

Sticking up for? I don't even know the person nor have I noticed any of their posts other than where I saw you attacking them. It's like a children's playground in here.

I only mentioned it as you were accusing others of name-calling and I thought it a bit rich coming from you.

Maybe he didn't like the way you talked to others, or how you come across, both here and in your other usernames. You know exactly what I'm talking about when I say go to my other posts, because you've already been involved in them and with me before. What you don't get is that people, they way they talk, write and come across, is noted, especially by observant ones, and when you come back and talk the same way as before, you're an easy target. Since you don't really listen to others but talk above them, so to speak, I gave you the opportunity to look back and see what he had said in other posts. Posts you have already seen because you've been a former member in other usernames and always come after me when I post. Trolling.

There is some truth to that, Trump is one of the biggest complainers, and whiners of all of them, and his tendencies seem to have rubbed off on a lot of his devotees.

In general I do think Americans are getting weaker by the day, but to a certain extent I would apply that to the entire planet. The entire PC and woke thing has certainly weakened the population dramatically but fortunately a lot of people are now saying no absolutely not! Do what you want with your life but that nonsense is not for me.

IMO the woke and PC stuff all started when personnel departments renamed themselves Human Resources.

Then decreed all managers should be touchy-feely, and authoritarians were frowned upon.

Robert Townsend was right when he recommended firing the personnel department in its entirety, calling them babysitters in the corporate kindergarten.

I live in Thailand. I am an American and have loathed Trump since the 1980s, not just recently, but definitely more intensely nowadays. He's very hateable. 🤣

So are Socialists that hate their fellow Americans.

Live here full time since 2007, am 79 years old, from UK…and retired well before settled here.

Wife is a Thai National, with UK Citizenship, she is 69 years old

Married 22 years no children thank #### from this marriage but both have child/children from previous marriage …

Spend our time like most old couples … potter around the house, bit of travelling around Thailand and usually both play golf three times a week …

I went to Phuket on my honeymoon, Patong Beach, and around Phuket a little fishing.and many here I talk to have migrated to the beach areas for work, including the island.

Patong, very romantic Fred. Right up there with Soi 6 Pattaya.

Don't hate Thailand, but I did bore of it.

I am American and I don't think I have ever posted anything about Trump, or US politics at all. This is a Thai forum.

... balance between Thai craziness and a life in the US

Very interesting comments, @GinBoy2.

Would make a lively discussion thread.

Would you like to start a new topic along those lines?

[If you don't, I'll do it, with credit to your post above].

Lived here 30 years, worked for corporations for 10 of those including being the only Farang in a Thai company, but obviously don't know much about the place as I am always being told I don't know what I am talking about by people who come here 2 weeks of the year and spent the other 50 on this board.

Well said, @mokwit

I think most members visit Thailand every year but they do not live here year round.  Most of my Norwegian friends who can afford it or already retired stay here during the winter months.

Bangla rd and the P4P scene is easily avoidable on Phuket and at Patong beach.

Guess you missed ... "and around Phuket a little fishing"

Although others may simply enjoy the festive atmosphere and people watching.  Nothing forces you to engage in P4P, especially if with a partner.

How do you comment on things romantic when you're always buying your women? By the way, it was romantic, besides the fact that Phuket looks like Bangkok with a beach

Patong, great choice for a honeymoon.

No flies on Fred.

I have 2 Norwegian friends. They both live here year round. 2 of the nicest ex pats I know. I divide my time between here and Philippines. I'm finding high season hard going. I live in Pratamnak which has gone from being an extremely quiet backwater to hard core crowded, traffic laden horror. I'm hoping they'll all fo by mid January! If not, well ... Maybe time to upsticks.

You should leave earlier especially if it's given you anxiety ,your not young anymore and your mental health is suffering.

Yes low season is much better

Quite, low season, if there still is such a thing, is heavenly compared to this. But I'm thinking maybe they're here to stay, and low season is a thing of the past, at least in Pattaya. But I can hardly complain as I'm here for similar reasons, for sure.
