A violent shooting incident in Pattaya has left multiple people injured after a dispute between two families escalated into gunfire. The altercation, which stemmed from a conflict between two young girls, led to a confrontation between their parents that quickly turned violent.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jirasak Aepfang, an investigator at Nong Prue Police Station, received a report at 22:06 on 2 February, regarding a shooting incident with multiple casualties. The incident occurred along the railway road near Soi Siam Country Club in Bang Lamung district, Chonburi. Upon receiving the report, he informed Police Colonel Tawee Kudthalaeng, Superintendent of Nong Prue Police Station, before rushing to the scene with officers and rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation.

Emergency responders arrived to find three injured victims. Ms. Panicha Mahaniyom, 36, sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm and required 10 stitches. Mr. Pramot Pudchan, 29, was shot in the right leg, while Ms. Thanyawan Phromthep, 35, suffered a severe gunshot wound to the back of her head. All three were quickly transported to nearby hospitals.

Authorities discovered over 10 spent bullet casings scattered across the scene, along with bloodstains trailing along the road. Witnesses, who had fled into nearby woods during the shooting, later emerged to provide statements to the police.

Ms. Panicha recounted that both parties had agreed to meet to settle a previous conflict peacefully. The dispute originated from a fight between two young girls, a 13-year-old "Na"and a 14-year-old "Fe", which had already led to a physical altercation. However, Fe's parents insisted on arranging a formal discussion.

"When we arrived, we tried to mediate and even suggested resolving the issue with a one-on-one fight," Panicha explained. "But before anything could happen, a group of over ten people from the other side suddenly pulled out firearms and opened fire at us."

Dash-cam footage.

Ms. Atitaya Obun, 27, another victim, described how she was physically attacked before the gunfire erupted. "I initially got into a fight with the other party, and then a man named Nut kicked me. Suddenly, gunshots rang out-more than ten shots in total. The shooters then fled the scene on motorbikes and in cars."

CCTV and dsah-cam footage from a vehicle at the scene captured parts of the altercation, including heated arguments and the moment gunfire erupted. The footage shows the attackers fleeing immediately after the shooting.

Lieutenant Colonel Jirasak and his team have gathered evidence, including CCTV recordings, and have identified some of the suspects. Police are currently tracking down those responsible to face legal action.

Nice families.

Both parties arrange a meeting to settle the differences peacefully, which is what civilized people do, teaching their children that fighting isn't the answer and trying to get along with or ignoring them is. Bringing guns to this meeting isn't a way to settle the differences but to use force if the other party doesn't give in and bow down to their control. A man kicking a woman is also another way of control, and showing how a coward settles arguments by interfering in another's dispute. This is how gangs operate, and why the US gets such a bad rap about gun use, while intentional homicides are higher here.

More like the OK Coral when it takes place in Thailand.

There, Good job! Now the parents really showed the young girls effective conflict solving techniques.

an investigator at Nong Prue Police Station,

I thought investigators usually wait for a tip from 'a concerned member of the public' before they did any work?

Morons...

Pattaya is getting more and more unruly every month!

At this rate of escalation we will think  the Bronx are a safer bet to live than here.

The firearms situation for a small city is getting ridiculous.

Unless the authorities make a concerted stance, Pattaya is going to become a joke (or a much bigger one)!

Already it has become unsafe to be out on the streets at night.

Where is it going to end?

It has always been bad mate. Just more reporting of it now due to social media and every man and his dog having a smartphone.

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, at least Pattaya is living up to it's reputation. Family friendly my ass!
