“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it,” Trump said. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

Trump suggested other neighboring countries could invest millions of dollars to create “numerous sites or one large site” where Palestinians could relocate.

 

The president left open the possibility of U.S. troops being used to secure the Gaza Strip “if it’s necessary.”

If Jordon / Egypt agree to relocation after repeatedly declining to do so who's paying for infrastructure job creation etc etc. trump says if necessary he will send US military resources. Well, that's going to go down like a lead balloon. I see that there doesn't seem to be much point having Gaza as it is, basically a huge open prison, where it is, and just going back into the previously done cycle of destroy-rebuild-destroy-rebuild-destroy again as these two simply are having too much of a hard time being neighbours.

Something radical might have to be tried, like maybe just give them and equivalent sized piece of land ajacent to the West Bank and move them all there, plus give the West Bank government funding to build housing and infrastructure... but even then, it'll be a hard sell.

Let Palestinians go somewhere else to wander the earth until the end of time.

The equivalent in the US would be telling all the people in New York that they were going to be relocated to Wyoming, for their own good, and never mind that they lose their own land and houses as new ones would be built for them.

 

If you want to see what really awaits them, look at the refugees in Jordan, and you will know why it's not an attractive prospect.

I think the only conclusion that could be had here is that Trump is an absolute moron, who is completely and totally out of his element when it comes to foreign policy.

Saudi and UAE have already pledged to pay for the reconstruction of Gaza. EU especially Germany who have been major donors of humantarian aids for occupied Palestine territories will likely to participate. Israel should shoulder rebuilding responsibilties for the damage inflicted. The rebuilding is estimated to cost about $50 B. Really don;t need any help from Trump. Just need him to shut his fat lips from creating confusion and chaos.

Here we agree.  If Palestinians are forcefully removed it is ethnic cleansing.  I've been alive long enough to listen to the US State Department use the term "ethnic cleansing" so often that pretty much every US citizens knows it's meaning.  Also, it provides Israel with cover - if leveling Gaza gets rid of Palestinians for good, then up next, leveling The West Bank, and then leveling Beirut.  Where's it end?  The world is watching and nobody is fooled.
