Starbucks is 185 for a venti.   what's your point?   if you can't afford 80 baht for a coffee then you really are in dire straits.   regards, Elvis from Tupelo.

Well said.  80 baht for a decent cup of coffee is a great price.  I sometimes wonder if people think they're living in a 3rd world country!

That's what happens when Juan and Cochita retired.

To enjoy the river view, you can go through Starbuck on the left , or enter Napalai Terrace through the small door on the right.

Thanks ... as that crossed my mind as I was making my coffee this morning.   Remembering how bad the coffee was at StarCrap, the one and only time I sampled.   Although that was 25+ yrs ago, I've not read anyone say anything good about their coffee from the outlets.

It must be the way the outlets make it, as the beans themselves get decent reviews when comparison reviews are done on YT.  @ 16 mins of this vid ...

Definitely agree with Dunkin's coffee, as use to be a favorite of mine at Udon Thani, and the gal always brewed a fresh pot for me.  😉   Although I prefer a darker roast of late.

Don't Yank bash, I'm sure 'yours' is probably better 🙄

Never paid more than 50 baht for REAL coffee. 😄

Soi bukoa pattaya is the most reasonably priced food soi in the country. Especially breakfasts. Like many places Time bar does an early bird breakfast for 99baht including tea or coffee.

The poster was  certainly ripped off charged 80 baht for an instant coffee in that area.

It was never about if he can afford or not. First Starbucks sell overpriced bad coffee. What was the point in the op, was that a pack of 5 baht instant coffee, can be sold for 80 baht. In my opinion that´s a scam.

I was just killing time till tuk com opened at 1030. I wasn't hunting a cheap meal, I stopped at a restaurant because it had a nationality specific menu. I'm usually disappointed when doing this and this time was no different. Now the coffee tasted like instant, but hey it could have been brewed. My point is just that 80 baht is excessive and bad business practice for coffee either instant or brewed.

I understand Starbucks sell expensive coffee and if I had stopped there I wouldn't post.

If SB's coffee was good, it really isn't that expensive.  Their cups are considerably larger.  If the Ma / Pa vendor, small chains charge 50 or 60 baht a cup, then SB, is about right.  Ma / pa & chain vendors, you might get 5 oz / 150 ml, without the AC & comfy seating.

8 oz / 236 ml

12 oz / 354 ml (Tall)

16 oz / 473 ml

20 oz / 591 ml

My morning cup at home is 400 ml, and cost all of ฿20

The OP is nothing to do with not being able to afford it!

Zip it, Chris.

Easier to go to 7/11.  3 in 1 coffee costs maybe 15 THB and the packages are usually enough for two cup-fulls of the small cups they provide.

3 in 1 is not coffee!

Exactly.  How anyone drinks it is beyond me!  Putting sugar in coffee or tea is disgusting.

I didn't say YOU are my mate - don't flatter yourself!

Personally unless its brewed from beans its not really coffee and you shouldnt drink it

I'm one of your agreers, yet this morning I couldn't be bothered to grind and brew. Instant will have to do. I bought a small jar of instant just for this situation.

Grind a few days worth, no noticeable difference

I would never drink anything that was not roasted, ground and pressed the same day.

i did a comparison the other day, ground coffee 3 days before vs freshly ground, same coffee beans, I didn't notice a difference, probably mostly in your head

You have completely, utterly, and 100% missed his point.

How long had it been since you roasted the beans?

Looking at the menu first is always recommended.
