Since when do you need a prescription for cannabis in thailand now?

Just realised I might get shot down a bit on this one the law is a bit murky theoretically you would need a prescription however the reality is much different it's like saying prostitution is illegal in thailand

Green expressed his disbelief over an unfounded car theft accusation, stating, "I didn’t steal the car. I was incapacitated and unaware of what was happening."

He was off his nut and driving a car ?

That surely must be illegal ?

He goes to a cannabis shop , gets off his nut , drives a car and then alleges someone else drugged him

I'm sorry, but I find this hard to believe.

The very posturing photo tells a story; this guy has a sly, 'I'm the man' look and his account is everything but the reality of Thailand.

I know the police aren't as helpful, effective and trained as our western police are, but in 20 years of living here, I have never heard such nonsense.

Now this 'person' is back in UK - I think he has embellished his story and the family 'go fund me' attempt is just another way of recovering their costs.

I also have been around Asia over the last 60+ years. In all that time, I have never heard of anyone complaining that they didn't receive water to drink after his 'cell' was contaminated by                        flooding and that he was forced to drink his own urine.

What the?

Indeed.  Likely hugely exaggerated b0llocks to justify payment from The Daily Mail..

If there were charges against a foreigner of stealing a car then why wasnt it posted here

Perhaps because every transgression doesn't get reported and AN only re-publishes media/news reports?

Go fund me appears to have become the modern way to get money for a holiday, why don't they all just do it the old fashioned way and save up for a holiday, get correct travel insurance and behave when abroad it's not rocket science

the conditions in Thai jail are terrible, many stories already we have read about it

"...many stories already we have read about it".

Conditions are nowhere near ideal but all these stories are exaggerated in the extreme in order to get paid, this one being a prime example.

The young tourist, who sustained serious injuries including fractured ribs and a broken wrist, contends he was targeted and possibly spiked with the hallucination-inducing drug Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)

So, what happened to his broken ribs and wrist ?

Did he get hospital treatment and who paid the bill ?

And he claims that he was spiked and someone drugged him..............and he even suggests what drug that person gave him 🙂

It would say that he took the drugs himself and went on a hallucinogenic  trip

As usual, the posters here have yet to discover empathy and compassion. I ask you to imagine you had experienced this ordeal and then you read the comments posted here. How would you feel? You'd be horrified.

Firstly, we know the Police will demand a lot of money to free a tourist while taking money from the Thai(s) involved to "take care of the matter" as well.

Secondly, if you get into such an unjust situation with the Police you take their names and tell them that you will see them on the Channel 3 programme โหนกระแส (Hone-Krasae) in the next few days. If they are being corrupt, they'll let you go because they know they could be kicked out of the Civil Service and even jailed.

Thirdly, to tourists and all foreigners, if you take drugs and you're caught, expect the most horrendous worst.

I do expect that we would have compassion and sympathy if we believed his story is true .

But even reading his story it states that he took drugs , drove a car when off his nut and had to pay compensation and now he wants GFM to reimburse him .

Also he lies about the police drugging him , because he was tripping before he got arrested .

He's a liar and a con artist , that's why there's no compassion for him

I believe the part about the urine

Why?  Do you have some personal experience to back up your "belief" in such a ludicrous tale?

Holding cells are not prison cells.

Inmates are not forced to drink their own urine off the floor in prison accommodation, either.

He was probably tripping and they washed the floor and he licked it up

They would have given him drinking  water of he'd asked for it

If I was subject to that kind of treatment and then finally released, I think I would be very tempted to dedicate the rest of my life to go after that prison warden and those guards that were responsible.

He wasn't in prison.

Yep, it was a bit of a metaphorical question 🙂  As a scientist I know the answer.

Did you know that bottled drinking water in Singapore is often made from recycled pee?  I told some of my young online Chinese students that fact and they almost cancelled their trip to Singapore! 🙂

Tourists should have a mental-state evaluation before they are let into this country.  There seem to be too many nutters and mental snowflakes.

Sooner or later, every marginal nutcase or worse makes his way to Thailand.

So guessing he acted like a little bitch , and now go fund that 555

Hear, hear!    Also, he's being paid for the tale so the whole episode has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
