That shows what little you know. Many cases of mental problems from using weed. I personally know someone that became a nutter from using it to much.

The biggest lie is that it's harmless.

Thats what i tell my kids. Weed is the most dangerous drug, for that reason

1) he said he was "set up by a local and being asked to drive her vehicle which then landed him up being arrested and locked up for four days in a Thai holding at the police station".

Sooooo, we are being asked to believe that some Thai woman gave him a powerful hallucinogenic drug and then got him to drive her car :whistling:.

Has to be true because I was always being asked by Thai women I didn't know to drive their car and not remembering after what happened.

Sarcasm alert.

Stay away from Drugs!! Should be the lesson instead of “ Go Fund me”, misuse.

Do not go to Thailand for a  “ Drug Holiday “ or else bear the consequences! Your own karma! There could be permanent damage to your health from drug misuse or mixing in that community. Although I see many using cannabis shops and making purchases, so maybe it’s where you use it!

Fact check please..as bad as Thai gaol system is / can be, I call BS on this story...no previous Thai news on this story and only comes to light after his return to UK..and then a GoFundMe to rehabilitate him (and no doubt pay off travel expenses)

From the GFM page

"Hi my name is Colleen and I am Lewis mother. The reason we have set up a go fund me is so we can try and recover the money Lewis lost in Thailand to get out the police station in hau hin after being set up by a local and being asked to drive her vehicle which then landed him up being arrested and locked up for four days in a Thai holding at the police station we know Lewis was drugged in Thailand with a drug that he said just gave him a over whelming feeling of psychosis. He was hallucinating and he was having a near to death experience his dad and I lost contact with him for four days it was when a friend he met went to check his hotel room she found his dads number and contacted us to say Lewis was in holding. We were horrified Lewis had started the holiday with a wonderful fishing experience and he had been thoroughly enjoying it but in the day before he was due to return everything went horribly wrong. He was beat in the police station and the police fractured his ribs broke his wrist and his feet were lasserated. The only way we could get to Lewis rescue without him being locked up in a Thai prison was to send £7.000.00 in English money over which Lewis said he wanted to pay himself we sent the money over and he was free to go what else could we do he was in danger and he was our son we needed to help him. But it doesn’t end there we then realised that whatever they had drugged him with was having lasting effects and he was in no fit state to fly home we then made the decision for his dad to fly over that cost another £5k for his dads flight over and there flights home. We had to do this we had to get him home so that we did but upon arrival to the uk he still wasn’t well he was still having horrendous nightmares and hallucinations he broke down at home and said he needed help so we seeked help and Lewis was admitted to St. George’s for treatment not that he had a drug problem he didn’t as most of you know he’s a hard working lad and he didn’t deserve in any which way to end up with what was a dream holiday and ended up in a nightmare situation in which we had to get help Lewis was admitted for five weeks in to St. George’s for a treatment plan and he was finally discharged yesterday he’s spent his savings to get him out of jail he’s not earning any money for three months so I thought I would set up a go fund me to help Lewis to get some of his money back just a little till he can resume at work which we have no idea how long this will take. I thank anyone now who can help us in this awful situation we’ve been through as a family we have tried to get money back from the authorities in Thailand but it’s corrupt and they don’t want to know I would also advise anyone travelling to Thailand to be vigilant and the Thai authorities have one rule for one and one for another so beware"

If this GFM page is the way the mother wrote it, and assuming she is a Native English Speaker. It does not say much for her education writing a long story like this with no comma's or paragraphs.

Speaking from the UK, Green explained that ultimately, he managed to buy his release for an eye-watering payment of £7,000 (307,000 Baht)

So mom bailed him out and now set up a GoFundMe to get her money back!

Well , the lesson learned is! Let's not travel to LOS and take drugs . Young lad will surely take caution ⚠️ on next outings, maybe best stay with mom and 👨‍👩‍👧 dad for these special occasions.

the Green family has launched a GoFundMe campaign

I was 100% expecting this in the final paragraph. Not disappointed at all. 🤣

How did I know this was coming?  "My dumb son got himself locked up for stealing a car when he was stoned please give us some money to pay for his weed"

As soon as I see any post about some Brit that got in trouble, especially if there is a hospital bed photo attached, I guarantee there is a GoFundMe link in the final paragraph. Usually they involve motorbike accidents but this one is a little more creative. I wonder if the story was AI generated.

For sure I don't think AN would have AI generated it but I think you are right there is probably a thriving fraudulent market on on fake gofundme's that some of the main news outlets pick up on so not necessarily their fault the frauds need stopped at source if in doubt and you think a cause is worth donating to go directly to the source and donate there at least you know they get 100% of your donation then

I don't give a single toss what he did. The friggin Thais have NO right to treat any prisoners as they do....and they do all the time.

Inhumane, savage, cruel, degrading, violent, tortuous treatments are the signs of a depraved system

Can he not sue through some world human rights court??

If there were charges against a foreigner of stealing a car then why wasnt it posted here

1. They don't shackle people in the police cells only for transfer to the courts.

2. Water is freely available.

3. Stealing a car usually is a 5 year prison sentence.

4. Police cells don't flood and the police would not attack him unless  provoked. They would then get other prisoners to do the job for them

5 it does not cost £5000 for a return ticket and a one way ticket to the UK. It could be closer to £2000.

I think the guy is a liar and loser.

The money he has paid out would be in compensation to the car owner, and money to get the charges dropped.

Don't believe all you read and these feckless idiots are visited often by Embassy represtatives or volunteers.

The police know this and are very careful.

Foreigners get taken care of better than Thais .

He is making it up to garner sympathy for his Go fund me cause.

The Thai police and prison holding cells are a damn sight better than they were 25 years ago, and treatment of prisoners has come a long way to the benefit of those incarcerated.

I know, I have been there.

He is lying.
